Pours almost black with reddish hints if seen through light. Medium sized compact off-white/greyish head, showing good enough retention and lacing. Average intensity in the aroma: light roasted malts with a hint of coffee and notes of chocolate, nuttiness, a hint of cola. Quite some intensity in the taste: notes follow the aroma quite closely, with more emphasis on the roasted malts side (surely more than usual for a tmave, feels like a schwarz). Chocolate and coffee take the main stage, maybe a hint of licorice. Finish/aftertaste is pretty dry and bitter for the style, maybe with a floral hop note. The bitterness shows up pretty much only in the finish and feels a little abrupt. Light to medium bodied, carbonation is slightly below average. Overall a bit fuller than a standard tmave with just a hint of creaminess, though as mentioned dry in the finish. A rather complex beer, especially for the style, though a kind of complexity that i couldn't catch up with. Overall still quite nice, will be glad to try again in the future, maybe it will change my mind.

Update august 2026: finally got to try it again. Probably served at a more proper temperature this time. Aroma, taste notes and overall impressions are pretty much confirmed, but the beer feels more integrated now, with less "detachment" between sweetness and bitterness (though still a bit present). This is probably helping with mouthfeel too, as everything feels a little bit smoother. Still not entirely what i'd like in a tmave, but recognizably a complex and interesting beer. Raising flavor from 7 to 7.5 and mouthfeel from 6 to 7. Final score consequently raised from 6.8 to 7.0

(tap 0,3l @ Malt Worm (Brno)) Overall: Just average. Quite neutral citrus hops character, some lager notes (diacetyl) and some sharp/alcohol notes (rice?). Aroma: Citrusy hops, later some alcohol notes. Appearance: Clear golden. Medium white head. Taste: Light sweet, citrusy hops, medium bitter, later light diacetyl. Palate: Medium body. Dry, sharp bitter finish.

Tap at OP, Brno. Clear pale golden body, white head. Butter, wormwood and some fruit in the aroma. Medium to low, sweetish body, butter, wormwood, fruity touches, warming, urgh... Most homebrewed examples we had at the Moravian Homebrewers Meeting hours before were class for this!

Sort med et flot brunt skum. Mørk malt i duften. Smager lidt røget og mørkt.

Tap at Pivní Zastávka. Hazy orange-amber, off-white head. Plums, dusty and herbal wild yeast touches. Lean, dry taste, oaky and plummy, lightly bready but fun, mild to medium sourness. Not bad, different, but 0.3l feels a bit much, bit too full at moments, still, I really appreciate what they were trying to do here, raising the overall score a bit.

Plastic bottle from brewery. Golden color with medium white head.Aroma of malt, citrus hops. Taste is mostly hoppy with citrus hops. Medium malty body. Good, refreshing.
