On tap at GABF 2012. What an interesting idea. Pours a cloudy light brown/amber color with a medium white head. A sweet nose with light smoke. Pretty clean with light sweet malts and very light smoke. Nice and enjoyable.

Brewgrass 2012 Dark brown pour with a white head. Nutty sweet malt aroma. The flavor follows the aroma with a nutty sweet flavor that finishes with a bit off dryness. Smooth easy drinking.

Enjoyed on tap at Sesame Burgers & Beer in North Charleston, SC while enjoying my honeymoon. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, thin tan head. Aroma of very dark chocolate, bit of nuts, small bit of lactose, as well as a hint of mint, smells very good. Taste is good, goes down slightly bitter and sweet, notes of coffee and chocolate, goes well with both a meal and dessert. Relatively high carbonation, medium body. Pretty good stuff.

Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium creamy tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of whisky, wood and coconut. The whisky notes dominate and hint of the base beer. The taste is tart fruits, wood, roasted malts, leafy notes and a hoppy finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness and some booziness.

Hooray! Back at the RBSG 2010 Grand Tasting I held in my hand a bacon beer. It was in my glass. It was in my hand. I smelled it. It smelled great. But you know how grand tastings can be. Somehow I never drank it. Now, FINALLY, I try my first bacon beer. And it was good. Served on draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of smoke, roasted malts, salt and nuts. Taste is roasted malts, salt, bacon, caramel, tart fruits, hoppy finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
