Box @ Alexandra Hotel, Derby. Pours gold, aroma of funk, solvent. Not getting any mango unfortunately, a little sharp, roughened palate, gentle acidity with pleasant-enough pure fruit.

Pours a dark brown colour, getting to the black side with a warm beige mocha-coloured head which is quite big, lasts long and leaves foam spots. Lots of dark fruits in the nose over the roasted malts. So, prunes and hints of coffee, chocolate. The taste is mostly the roasted malts with the roasted coffee mild bitterness in the finish. Nothing too special, but quite drinkable.

Bottle. Black with next to no head. A steady stout, there's some silky roasted malts due to a fairly smooth texture. There is a grittiness about it though.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A hazy amber pour with a ring of white head; fruity aroma; oddly fruity taste, lots of pear, some red berries, and very tart apple with yeast and biscuity malts in the background. Odd.

9/12/2019. Cask at Lord Aberconway, London. Poured clear golden amber with a small creamy white head. Aroma of toffee, biscuit, malt, hops and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Pretty decent brew.

An orange beer, a head is small and blond. Aroma has caramel, fruitness, not fresh anymore. Taste has caramel, fruitness, some wood. Medium bodied. Should be fresher.

Cask pint, hand-pulled in my local Wetherspoon's on 22nd Oct 2019. White crown on the clear golden body. Tropical fruit esters abound in the aroma, the taste also has fruity hops to the fore. Light malty sweetness in there too.
