Draft sample at the High Country Beer Festival 2018. Dark brown color beige head. Aroma of earthy chocolate, espresso, burnt caramel. Taste is dark cocoa, coffee, vanilla. Very brave to serve a dark beer in the summer in NC

Can from Tasty Bevrage Co. Pint glass pour. Still pour. More brown then red. Smell is dark cherry, slightly bitter nose with a deep suggestive tone. Taste is great. Only faintly sweet with bittersweet apple notes & rich black cherry tannins. Weak carbonation, thin, juicy. Wanting finish. Very simple. Not an amazing cider, but very good for being honest, not super sweet & most importantly, being free of false additives. Real cherry juice works as intended.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/5/2018. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, light/pepper pine, honey, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness/spicy alcohol. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Mildly increasing warmth of 8.3% after the finish. Overall this is an awesome DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel. Great Mosaic, Citra, Mandarina Bavaria, Waimea, Calypso profile. Extremely juicy and lightly dank/earthy hops; nice sized bready malt backbone, not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

16.9oz bottle pours a crystal clear gold, no head. Nose is nice, sweet, honey, some light booze, some green apple. Flavor is crisp and juicy, honey, apple candies, a little ice cider. Dry, oily finish. Nicely done.

16oz can, dated 4/21/18. Pretty much I bough this bc its fresh. Poured into one of those dildo glasses. Not much of lacing and head fades quickly. Filthy pale beer. Aroma is tropical fruits, lots of artificial stuff that I like. Very fruity. Flavor is not bitter, which is good. Malt is basically not there and hops are overwritten by fruits that aren't real. But I like it. Though I would never guess lychee or lemon zest.

16 ounce can. Hazy medium gold color. Small foamy white head. Lightly fragrant fruit nose hints at white grapes and pears. Flavor follows nose with additional notes of lemon peel and melon. Some buttery notes as well. Tart and fruity with a burst of lemon. Sticky mouthfeel. Very flavorful.

Super hazy coppered and lightly bronze coloured body with a dense, very frothy five to six centimetre tall head that actually fades quite nicely. Aroma of grassy and very herbal notes up front with a large dose of hops, some light earth and quite a bit of tropical and citrusey fruit scents coming from the hops as well - complex and deep in terms of the hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive hop bites at first with a good deal of bitterness and a very smooth, floral and lightly herbal touch showing some subdued sweetness and nice balance with the malt coming through towards the end, but the hops dominate for sure. Aftertaste is deep with the herbal, dry and lightly grassy hop notes that end in pure fruit and almost a juicy-like flavour with a good balance throughout. Overall, a nicely balanced and well structured hop flavour with the fruit-based hops at first that end with a bit of the malt and some light sugars as well. Good to try and a nice, still complex APA with a fresh flavour of both malt and hops as well. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 09-March-2018 for US$1,89 sampled at home in Washington on 14-May-2018.
