Pours deep bright mahogany into a shaker. Off white head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Caramel and mild vanilla aromas. Soft sweet toffee and bitter black tea upfront turning to bitter earth in the lasting finish.

16 oz. can from 7 11 , Kittery Maine. Cloudy looking yellow orange-ish color with fast dying head in my snifter. Aroma is part raspberry, orange citrus, mild dusty wheat. Flavor shows an abundant amount of both fruits with a slightly tart finish. Decent wheat body. Overall, pretty simple beer but it is refreshing. Easy to drink.

Pours mahogany tinged dark brown into a snifter. Sickly head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Sour coconut aromas. Soft and thin with metal and chocolate front to back. Can is 4 months old... perhaps too old.

Draught at Casa Verde, 5/31/17.
Dark mahogany-ebony, undetermined clarity, with a greyish-tan head atop, medium-sized and showing strong retention.
Fresh mineral and lactic character from the roast, with mild, fruity coffee character and soft vanilla tickling the nose as cherry and other fruity acidity balances the light caramel-molasses that is produced from the ample base malts mixing with the roasted barley. Clean and with no alcohol. Chocolatey and with just a kiss of citrus from the hops.
Soft, malty and well-attenuated with dry chocolate, fruity coffee and hints of both vanilla and light molasses. Sweet and sticky finish produces a lingering, rich, luscious flavor but the moderate acidity helps keep it balanced and drinkable. Almost perfectly balanced between dry/highly attenuated and richly malted. Hops add a light citrus and pine element but there’s no accompanying resin or big bitterness. Very lovely stuff.

12 fl oz can. Pours hazy yellow to orange with a white head. Aroma is peachy and grapefruity. Crisp hoppy and smooth fruity. Lingering hoppy and peachy into the far finish.

1 pint can. Pours cloudy to hazy yellow, white head. Aroma is spruce herbal. Floral, spruce and slight sweetness. Lingering floral and fruity. Sweet and spruce finish.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a golden burnt yellow color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that settled fairly slow to leave some light messy lace.
The aroma had some berries sweet and tart qualities, light vinous/white grape, light funk, some sour, light grass, sweet wood and a little bit of floral quality at the end.
The flavor was sour, funky and tart up front in the blend and then wrapped some of that grassy and sweet woodiness in underneath. Light aftertaste of the vinous/white grape. Sly woody to semi-funky finish.
The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sipping quality about it. Funkiness seemed to distract just a bit, but I somewhat expected it to. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good wild ale, but since I dislike overly vinous beers, this was borderline and leaves me not really desiring to come back to. Nice to try, though.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a sturdy semi-dark red color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that slid off pretty quick. Not much lace.
The aroma had some earthy hops playing with some grassiness. Light floral to herbal sort of quality about it. Sweet wood and a bit of caramel/toffee maltiness. Some biscuits. Sweet estery fruits.
The flavor guided the sweetness to round out the prior mentioned aromas together and bring about the herbal to grassy low hop quality rolling all about. No aftertaste. Finish brought together the malts and the low hop quality in fairly nice.
The palate was about medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Low carbonation and a good ABV.
Overall, well done Irish red ale that Banded Horn did, I’d have again.

Can to becher pint glass, the appearance was a sturdy burnt orange almost copper color with a rim of a little white foamy head that fell off extremely quick. Not much lace.
The aroma had that fresh sprucy/juniper sweet to earthy and grassy sweet to semi-bitter woody sort of herbal quality running over a super light malt base.
The flavor replicated the aroma fairly nice guiding a little bit of dried sweet wood coming in for a decent balance. Sprucy aftertaste with that fresh sort of semi-sweet and woody sort of finish.
The palate was almost medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty nice beer all around that seemed good to just end up wanting to sip by a campfire or maybe even staring out into a Spring evening by the lake. Thanks Andrew for the can.
