Taster pour from a can at The Beer Store, Salem. It’s an opaque inky black with nice viscosity. Aroma and taste are similar—nice roasted earthy malt, chocolate and soft bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium side of light to medium bodied with smooth texture soft mouthfeel and finish as taste. Overall, would have liked a bit more bourbon forward but better than overwhelming the base stout.

Taster pour from a can at The Beer Store, Salem. It’s a dark yellow with thin cap of head. Aroma and taste are similar with good amount of tropical fruit and vegetal/herb. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with smooth texture and finish as taste. Overall, good strength and decent balance between juice and dank.

Pours thick jet black into a tulip. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Espresso, vanilla and oak aromas. Thick with sweet licorice, very salty soy and hot bourbon upfront turning to dry oak and espresso in the hot, lasting finish.

16 oz. can. Aroma and flavor are a mirror. A little bit of citrus, a little bit of tropical fruit, with a lighter malt backbone. Texture is indeed juicy. Practically no bitterness. Easy to drink.

Bottle from the source enjoyed at home Mostly clear deep copper with a fluffy off white head that persists. Huge maple nose at first. Smokey earthy with caramel and toffee maltiness. Rum is subtle but this has lots of layers and is a nice sipper.

16 oz. can. Dated: 11-12-21. Aroma and flavor are a mirror. Has a solid amount of roasted malt backbone. Hints of chocolate, coffee, a touch of ash. Bourbon is found very mildly after the sip. The alcohol is extremely well hidden. Really well-crafted.
