Nicely bitter. Grapefruit, but not zest, passion fruit, green melon, and some earthiness in the finish. Nice flavor.

Can (2/1/21) pour. It's an opaque dark yellow-light brown with no discernible sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head with fair retention and light lacing. Aroma is mix of sweet pineapple and tart passion fruit with a smidge of Italian herbs/kitty litter/cat piss. Taste follows aroma along with grapes and astringency. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, lively carbonation, astringency (alcohol or otherwise) and finish as taste. Overall, not terrible but difficult.

16oz can pours an opaque black with some ringing dark brown head. Nose has burnt toast, some coffee grounds, pine and dried herbs. Flavor has malt, toast, black sesame, coffee grounds, pine and pine needles, herbs and soap, some caramel smoothing things out on the back end. Finishes dry, toasty, roasty and bitter. Reminds you why people like this style.
