Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark brown close to black sort of color with a fair finger’s worth of level head. Sly lace.
The aroma blends some roasted coffee tones, sly milk chocolate, a light dark chocolate and then wraps in a quaint bit of smoke ever so subtly at the end.
The flavor leans just a touch towards the roasty side but definitely wants to bring in the sweetness from the chocolate, both milk and dark. Lenient sweet to puffy roasted edged aftertaste and ends up sliding into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionably smooth yet roasty sort of feel along my tongue. Good carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, nicely done porter that I wouldn’t mind having again. Really hoping more reviewers show up for this little brewery in Hyde Park.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt copper to orange color with a quaint little white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Sly lacing.
The aroma started off with a tart to sweet pear-like nose flowing into some low key malt base. Light citrus and a subtle lemongrass at the end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side from a nice blend of the pear to the citrus to the sweet side of the lemongrass. Barely any bitterness but a rounded tartness comes out to evenly flow into the aftertaste and ride on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable trait running all about it. Moderate carbonation. ABV felt spot on.
Overall, very nice saison that I would love to have again preferably in the Summer.

Poured into a snifter, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange to amber color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated ever so gently. Concave rimmed lace.
The aroma had some caramel to toffee maltiness bold and rich up front dosed with some nutmeg and then a sly amount of grassy to citrusy bitter hops underneath.
The flavor bends over the malts into a nice bold boozy acceptable base. Nutmeg punches back a sly little spice to balance. Hops sink further back - they barely seem there. Crisp semi-sweet to bitter aftertaste rolling into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body to leave a fairly nice sessionable sort of smooth feel along my tongue. Nice carbonation. ABV is felt but seems to not be overly boozy - nice strength.
Overall, American or English styled strong ale? Since ratebeer doesn’t accept imperial red, that’s why I entered it as an American one, but I see my failure in possibly seeing this as a probable English one. Leaves me scratching my beard, but still worthy of coming back to.

The aroma had a sharp bitter citrus to resinous hoppiness up front bursting through some gentle roast and coffee bean.
The flavor makes a good effort to blend the hops to the coffee bean, but for the most part, stays separated. Crisp roasted to semi-sweet and bitter aftertaste spiking the finish with a big bitterness.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionable trait to it. As big and bold as the citrus and resinous hops come out, their bitterness level seems to be somewhat tame here, and I’m okay with that. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, an all around well balanced black IPA, though not an official palate wrecker like most I have encountered, this one could would be a nice early Spring time beer.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a rustic hazy amber color with a thin layer of off white foamy head. Some stringy lace.
The aroma had some toast, nuts, and then citrus hops to be the bitterring units.
The flavor takes the toast and nuts to bring a low malty sweetness to play with the citrus hops in a bitter fashion. Crisp toast, nuts and citrus in the aftertaste. No finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation. Agreeable ABV, feels good all around.
Overall, good amber that I could have again.

The aroma starts sweet grapefruit juice/pulp. Iced citrus juiciness. Sweet grass. Sly peach. Underlying mango.
The flavor starts sweet and gently opens up into some dry bitterness. Sweet dry touch of malts balancing. Sly fruity sweetness of the hops in the aftertaste sliding into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation seems on par.
Overall, good DIPA that I could have again. Nice to try a new brewer on the block.
