Somehow, Farmhouse Tap and Grill decided to pour this into a mini wine glass, oh sigh, really? Ugh, well, here’s the rest to take with a grain of salt.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with no head nor lacing.
The smell has a ton of sweet to sour grapes up front. Light herbal to sweet malts are in the background.
The taste was mainly sour with barely any sweetness from the malts. Again, the sweetness comes from the grapes. There’s a light grape-like aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light along my tongue.
Overall, barely any Marzen/Oktoberfest qualities noted, definitely leans towards the Sour/Wild ale side yet I could see myself having this again.

On tap at Vermont tap house, Williston Vermont.
The appearance was a nice hazy burnt orange color with a bar pour’s kind of slim white head that dissipated immediately and left no lacing.
The smell started off with tropical fruits sliding into a light little bit of tea. Sour green apple backs it all up in one package to round out.
The taste was mainly sour with a fairly decent tart behind it. Tea definitely comes across a bit more with a relaxing Jasmine quality about. There’s a dry sour aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs good for the style and for me. Tart to sourness hits my tongue pretty nicely.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good sour ale. Jasmine tea is there but just lighter in the aroma.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange color with no head nor lacing. I’m guessing that the \"cider\" of the house took control on part of this look, no worries, I get it.
The smell had a semi-sweet to sticky sour apple glosses into a light bitter green apple.
The taste rounds out the edges of the aroma with a nice woody to semi-tartness. A semi-sweet to sticky sour aftertaste leads into a quick semi-dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly good for the sour style allowing the sour edge to allocate enough to lead into a woody feel on my tongue.
Overall, sour ale combined with a cider, nice to try, but probably would probably come back to on a hot Summer’s day, it’s too cold outside right now.

On tap at McGillicuddy’s, Williston, VT.
This was poured into a mini-snifter.
The appearance was a nice looking hazy bronzed orange color with a thin looking glazed over looking perhaps ruddy darkness to it. A light thin one finger white foamy head dissipated extremely quickly.
The smell started off with sweet apple, sour green apple, and some light citrus.
The taste takes the previously mentioned flavors and leads into a slightly dry and woody aftertaste running into the same sort of finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine for the style and for me. Nice woody texture completes and abides in nice sour to sweet to tart feels rolling about.
Overall, I liked this one, but I don’t see the grapefruit and pineapple, hmmm...well, if anything, does it matter @ Hermit Thrush? Sometimes, just drink and be happy especially if one likes it.

The smell started off with sweet lemon and then a nice big kick of the sour side of the lemon pulp moving into the tart side of the lemon.
The taste was moderately sour with an ample level of sweet and tart and a nice level of lemon.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt right - low enough to allow the tartness really take hold.
Overall, as an American Wild Ale, it works, big lemon goodness in this one, I’d have again.

Can picked up at the brewery. It pours murky deep red - brown with a small beige head. The nose is soft, juicy, Vimto, Dandelion & Burdock, vanilla, wood, tang, fruit cake and cherry. The taste is sweet - sour, tangy, fruit cake, mild acidity, light spice, cherry cola, cranberry, Dandelion & Burdock and some alcohol boost. Medium + body and fine carbonation. Bizarre, but sort of works!

Can from the brewery. It pours cloudy pale gold with a thick white head. The nose is soft, clean, doughy, cracker, light grass, mild funk and brioche. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, light bread, cracker, grassy, minerals and citrus rind with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Simple, well-rounded and pretty crushable.

Can picked up at the brewery & shared in Canaan, NH. It pours cloudy deep amber with some orange and a off-white head. The nose is soft, juicy, pumpkin, squash, touch of vanilla, earth, pumpkin pie and light orange. The taste is crisp, tart, juicy, pumpkin, squash, light acidity, minerals and general sourness with dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Soft, well-rounded and way easier going than it should be.

The appearance was a dark ruddy brown color with a thin layer of white foaminess coating the top. Lacing was barely there.
The smell starts off with a fair amount of sweet and tart raspberries. Light cherries blend in. Sour and sweet lemon combine underneath and then the pumpkin, woeee, that took a while.
The taste follows the smell pretty much the same way. Aftertaste has basically the same features of the aroma in the same order. There’s no finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation comes across fairly tame, allowing pumpkin flavor to run nicely underneath.
Overall, what a unique beer! I know it’s a Belgian ale on here, but probably mainly because it’s \"broad\" enough to allow everything Hermit Thrush wanted it to be. I can see myself having this again.

Can shared in NH. Thanks to Scoopey. Pours murky brown with a creamy white head. The nose has some ripe plums, berries, light citric tang. Medium sweet flavor, moderately boozy, lots of tangy, ripe fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish, some sticky sugars, more tart fruits, plum, berries. Not bad.
