Description

No head left, hazy copper beer. Fresh citrus and other grains. In the taste a faint sourish edge on top of other grains. Gradually a bitter edge as well, but the sweetish malt balance out pretty well. Slight astringency; medium bodied; good carbonation. Interesting but not really innovative.

From tap at Vester, Haarlem. Soft honeyish Blond with light malt and fruity tones. Medium body, mild sweet with a light bitterness. Inoffensive Blond.

Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, bittering hops, toffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is medium, carbonation is a bit too high for my taste. Black IPA? There’s no roast, coffee or chocolate here. Fails at being a good IPA in my book anyway, but what do you expect when you use four kinds of malt. That being said, it’s certainly a drinkable malty bitter ale.

Bottle at home. Aroma is sweetish malt, caramel, bit peachy, notes of apricot, mild toffee, hint of boiled vegetables. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Okay-ish beer, bit strange.

From tap at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht. Plenty of coffee and nuts in the aroma, with dark malt and some roast. Flavour is mildly sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied. A lovely little nutty Coffee Porter, a fuller body would have pushed this over the edge. Well brewed!

Bottle from Beerwulf. Modestly yeasty aroma with bready pale malt and soft ripe-ish fruits. Flavour is a bit sweetish with a light bitterness. About medium body. Overall very mild, easy, forgettable but drinkable, I'm in a generous mood.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is brown malt with caramel, toffee, touch of dried fruits, not very yeasty. Flavour is sweetish with a light bitterness. Body is medium. Hmmm, interesting. Not really succesful at brewing a bottom-fermented Dubbel, the result is more like a very dark Vienna Lager. I'm not really complaining about it.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is fairly fruity with soft oats, mango, orange, tropical fruits, light oniony dankness. Flavour is a bit sweetish and light bitter. Body is weak and watery. I'm usually a 'glass half full' kinda guy when it comes to session IPA, but the weakness of body annoys me here.
