Tepid cloudy yellow body and little foam. Good coffee aroma, the styrofoamy type you drank when 16 as a temp worker. Flavour is more coffee, slight malt, carbonated but otherwise too thin. It delivers what it says but in the most mediocre way - kind of like most people at 16.

Muddy yellow body and little foam. Aroma is nice mango and soft habanero, a hint of something great, but nothing more. Flavour is closer with good piney hops rounded out by some soft habanero notes. Okay oiliness but spice is too soft. Drinkable but mostly a missed opportunity.

New Brighton - Passionfruit Juice from R & B Brewing Company

Cloudy yellow body and some modest foam. Good passionfruit juice on the nose, nothing else though. Flavour is tart and tangy grain with passionfruit juice, puckery finish. Enjoyable sour, hitting some good targets.

On tap at R & B, pours black with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Nose is pretty oaky indeed, with some toasted malt underneath. Flavour is all oak, revealing quite the woody character. Very oaky and vanilla-forward, but it has a very thin palate. Not complex but the one note it strikes is quite pleasant.

On tap at R & B, pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of esters, with some bubblegum, Belgian yeast, and floral notes. Flavour is quite estery and alcoholic, with floral notes, alcohol, some bubblegum, and candi sugar. Not getting the yeast expression to make this a convincing authentic tripel, but at least it's not sickly sweet. Needs work.

On tap at R & B, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals sweet coffee upfront, with cereal malt and subdued hops. Flavour is a little less sweet, with some earthy coffee upfront, subdued hops, and a dry biscuity malt base. Not a very assertive coffee pale—a bit clumsy, but drinkable enough.

On tap at R & B, pours a dirty, muddy dark brown with a tiny beige head. Nose is very dirty, with a dirty water character and old faint coffee grounds. Flavour is a little better, with a very watery earthy character. This doesn't have the palate of a classic mild at all. Poor.

Weak brown body and minimal foam. Smells of soft maltiness and mellow booziness, weak biscuit. Flavour is good biscuit, bourbon notes, wood finish. Nice, smooth, flavourful.

Clear orange with a nice white head. Intense candy orange. Orange and some banana notes with something else. Very muddy.

Soft yellow body and minimal foam. Odd meld of grapey cider on the nose, soft wine barrel. Flavour is bourbon barrel cider character, sharp and fruity, grain aftertaste. Somewhere between a bourbon infused cider and a blonde ale, and it's working surprisingly well.
