330ml bottle. Filmy reddish dark amber colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Piney hoppy aroma with a herbal touch, very cautious hints of peppermint, caramel malty background. Taste is minimally biting bitter and piney hoppy, tart subtle current, minimally grassy and herbal notes coming close to thyme and marjoram, a spicy peppery and peppermint touch; lasting finish. Complex, evolving, undisguised hoppy.

Sampled draught @ Tilburg Bierfestival 2013 + 33 cl. bottle @ CafΓ© Kandinsky. Murky orange with creamy white head. Nose is huge fresh hops, fruity, very clean pine, lightly herbal, touch malts & touch of barn in the draft version (presumably fresher one). Taste is wonderfully hoppy, grapefruit, caramel, peach, mango, some resin, hop spices, wonderful full hoppy. Bottled version is much more cleaner, draft was raw, like fermenting in brewery, barn, very raw, both very different & still very good. Thick, creamy. Absolutely outstanding IPA.

Bottled, 264/480. Dark brown color with a red glow, tiny brownish head, some lacing remaining, some tiny debris floating around in the dark. Aroma of peat, lots of dark malts still present, bit roasted, dark chocolat, licorice, laurel. Starts thick in flavor with slight sweetness and medium bitterness, but the peat and alcohol make it a bit dry. In the end though, the dark chocolat comes up again. The dryness I dont really like, but itβs inevitable with peated whisky, but the dark chocolat makes up for that. The whisky is more present in flavor than in aroma I think, but all is quite balanced. The base beer seems actually quite present, which really is a good thing, because most of the time itβs completely overpowered by barrel aging. Wonderful brew.
