ISLEY BREWING COMPANY is a Micro Craft brewery located in Richmond, Virginia.

We were the first Craft brewery to open in the Scott’s Addition area in the Fall of 2013 by owner and Richmond native, Mike Isley.

It’s been our intention from the beginning to make the best craft beer with the best ingredients for our guests to enjoy in our expansive tasting room.

To this day, our founding brewer, Josh Stamps, is still turning out award winning beers and winning people’s hearts with his artisan’s approach to brewing.

Stamp's accomplishments include:

- Choosy Mother ranking #23 in the state of Virginia by Beer Advocate, and voted Best Beer in Richmond 2020
- Creating the best IPA in Virginia 2014 by CAH
- Keeping us in the top 3 Breweries in Richmond for 3 years running
- Helping make Isley one of the top 50 brewery destinations in the world to visit by USA TODAY!

Keg at the brewery, 8/5/16. Clear dark red-brown, medium creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts, mild nuttiness. The taste is chocolate, caramel, nuts, roasted malt. Medium bodied mild lingering bitterness.

Keg at the brewery, 8/5/16. Pale golden, thin fizzy tan head, good retention. Aroma of citrus hops and pale malt. The taste is grapefruit, tropical fruit, lemon, pale malt. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness.

Keg at the brewery, 8/5/16. Clear light brown, large frothy tan head, good retention. Aroma of caramel and earth. The taste is caramel and nuts. Thin-medium bodied, very quaffable.

Keg at the brewery, 8/5/16. Clear very pale golden, large creamy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of brine, salt, lemon, pale malt. The taste is candied and fresh lemon, salt, pale malt. Medium bodied, bright, lingering tartness.

Pint pour at Capital Ale House - Downtown. Poured a golden amber red color with a small white head. Aroma was light grapefruit notes. A lot stronger in the grapefruit that I expected, as I thoguht this was the wrong beer.

Keg at the brewery. Dark red tinted brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of mint, chocolate, roasted malt. The taste is chocolate, mint, coffee, roast, mild lactose. Medium bodied, a bit too much mint.

22oz bottle from the brewery pours a hazy orange with some frothy, white head. Nose has cranberry, lemon, white grapefruit, mildly funky. Flavor has cranberry, a little strawberry, lemon, white grapefruit pith, a little vanilla actually.Medium bodied, tart finish.
