Tap at Off The Wall, Honolulu. Golden beer, small head. Aroma is wheat, sweet, floral. Taste is the same, nice.

On tap at Beer Lab HI, pours a cloudy dull orange, no head. Aroma is full of intense kiwi, orange, lots of sugars, and some lacto. Flavour is too sweet and somewhat artificial, with lots of vegetal kiwi notes, some orange notes, and a little detergent. Awful base beer and poor incorporation of adjuncts. Very poor.

On tap at Beer Lab HI, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is full of chalk and nothing but — I don't get the peppers. Flavour reveals very very light chilis, but then the chalky base takes over, exhibiting the typical incompetent hazy IPA standard that has plagued the globe. The peppers are wanting, and the base beer sucks.

On tap at Beer Lab HI, pours a somewhat hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals a nice rustic saison yeast character, with a touch of black pepper and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour has some phenolic notes that ruin this, with rustic saison yeast, burnt rubber and a touch of pepper. Get rid of that phenolic issue and you might have something halfway drinkable here. Not good.

On tap at Beer Lab HI, pours a deep dark purple with a small off-pink head. Aroma has that unusual, fascinating toasted hazelnut and peanut butter character that ube often gives off. Flavour is dry, with subdued toasted hazelnut and peanut butter, followed by a dry earthy finish. Nice use of the ube. Good stuff.

On tap at Grace in Growlers, pours a hazy blonde with a medium white head. Aroma has plenty of pickled notes, subdued jalape�o, yogurt and saline. Flavour is absolutely wretched, with pickled notes, vomit, jalape�o, and salt. What an absolutely awful combo of flavours, ending up tasting like vomit. Horrid.
