Since opening our doors in October 2012, we have been working to bring new and exciting flavourful beers to our community. We like to experiment, be adventurous, and break old traditional brewing rules. As a result, we have made it our mission create a diverse product roster that includes deliciously easy drinking beers that everyone can appreciate as well as hard-to-find ales that leave a lasting impression. We’ve spent years developing a variety of audacious brews that are hoppier, fruitier, aged longer (and in weirder barrels), etc. Let’s put it this way, if we can go overboard on some element of beermaking, we generally will.
We take our passion beyond beer as well in a quest to ‘Live Indie’. From a spectacular and carefully curated house-made menu to lively events, we’ve turned our creative and individualistic brewing methods into a lifestyle that reflects our mantra of fun-loving independence.

After several years of refining processes and working with a wonderfully dedicated team of beer lovers, we have been fortunate enough to grow our Junction-located brewpub and bottle shop into a bustling (albeit ambient and welcoming) space. We’ve also opened up a second brewing space, tasting room and bottle shop in partnership with Eataly at the heart of downtown Toronto. We’re grateful for how far we’ve come and we have no other goals but to keep on making bold beer and continue to serve excellence.
The bottom line is - we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to taste, enjoy, and have the choice of better food and better beer. It’s who we are. It’s why we’re here.

Can from the LCBO. Cloudy pinkish /purple pour, with a small white head. Raspberry puree nose, light lactose, hints of citrus. Watery, thick mouth feel, lightly tart, jammy finish.

Clear yellow pour, with a medium white head. Aroma is pungent hop cones, wet grass, and solid cereals. Take a good pils, and turn it up to 11. All the flavours are there, but they are so much more pronounced. Light mouth feel, lively carb. Low to medium bitterness, and the cereals dominate the finish.

Hazy yellow pour, with a huge, rocky, pillowy white head. Love this style of yeast, it always emparts a great melon, stone fruit, with a tangy bitterness, and lots of citrus zest. Juicy, lightly bitter, fantastic stuff, easy drinking, crushable, great stuff.

On cask at the brewpub. Pours a kinda beige/yellow with a small off white head. The aroma is odd, i’m getting hints of pepper, not exactly hot chile, but a all around pepper aroma, mingling with a subtle fruitiness, and some light lemon zest. The carb and body are standard for something served on cask. The finish has the slightest, faintest touch of heat, with some more soft fruit, and some wheat comes though. All in all, its ok, but a bit messy.

on tap at the brewpub. The lemon stands out big time, and battles the lactic sourness. Huge lemon notes, oils, and zest are way upfront. Mouth feel is nice, carb is good. The finish is very tart, lactic notes show no signs of fading. This is an interesting mix, also pretty refreshing, and clean too, with a dry finish.

Pours a hazy orange, with a large white head. Aroma is no surprise all citrus, and freshly picked, very green, hop cones. There is a solid dankness to the hops too, wet, and heavy at times. Nice mouthfeel, and a solid carb, maybe leaning towards soft. The finish is medium to highly bitter, with a solid hoppy finish. A hop bomb for sure. Nice stuff.

Finish is lightly bitter, hints of grapefruit pith but not overly strong. Tropical fruit fades and leaves the door open to a strong brett character.

Tap at Volo. Musty aroma, I can tell there is cantaloupe in there, but man it’s very musty, gives a distinct earthy musk. Maybe a reaction between the melon and the oak barrel? Slight sourness, some grassy hops. But I can’t seem to shake this musty, almost mouldy arom and flavour. Odd.

Tap at Birreria Volo. Hazy yellow pour, medium white head. Aroma is strong on malted wheat, with hints if lemon zest. Served extremely cold, the carb is soft and mouth feel is numbing. Finish is slightly sweet, lots more malted wheat, and some sharp green hop cones and more citrus. Not bad, not great.

Tap at Barhop. Red pour, pink head. Big berry Aroma, sweet, reminds me of jolly ranchers with a touch of tart. Mouthfeel was a little thin, carb was low. Finish was very balanced between tart and sweet, with a great berry sweetness, again, reminiscent of cherry jolly ranchers. Refreshing.
