Tasting at Matt's, can
Dark brown colour, almost black. Caramel flavour, malt; it's sweet, there's vanilla, mild vinous note; the mouthfeel is smooth. Good.

Poured from 355mL can. Mostly opaque dark brown with small beige head. Feint wood glue, bourbon, wood, dark fruits, decent, but some mild rough edges. Okay.

12 oz. can, pours a deep dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out port barrels, booze, and toasted caramel. Flavour is full of port barrels, caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. Quite a nice port BA character, with a solid malt backbone. Very good.

Tap at the brewery - hazy light amber - medium-sweet, with a moderate bitterness, light oxidation/sherry, mild oak - a light bit of treacle and candied cherries - a bit of alcohol heat and flavor on the tail end - not as complex as I would like, and a little thin in the finish, but still fairly enjoyable.

Can picked up from the brewery - dark purple, nearly black - substantially darker than the base beer I tried at the brewery earlier today - the port adds substantial character here - extremely tannic, lots of dark fruit, chocolate, toffee, oak - there is so much port character, in fact, that the notes of the base beer are nearly washed out - I can't really complain, though, because the result is undeniably better than the base beer - exceptionally warming finish - delicious.
