Description
The WBC story starts back in 2009 when two home brewers had a vision. Greg Gifford and Jeremy Horn wanted to bring good beer and good pizza to the people of Wichita. After a lot of hard work and many, many, many pints later Wichita Brewing Company opened their doors in the summer of 2011. The start was slow, with only five beers on tap. Eventually this would grow to seventeen beers on tap.

Success seemed to come naturally to the two home brewers. Wichitans rejoiced, and their thirst for craft beer kept growing. Eventually it was decided that Wichita needed to be able to get good beer on both sides of town. In 2015 the east side WBC was open for business, but this was not enough.

Eventually Wichita Brewing Company acquired an 18,000 square foot warehouse. The hopes were to continue brewing the same great beer, but they wanted to brew a lot more of it and they wanted to make sure a lot more people got the chance to enjoy it. This allowed WBC to can, keg, and distribute all throughout the state and on into Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.

From tinkering with self-built brewing systems in the garage and a brick-fire oven in the back yard to owning and operating an 18,000 square-foot brewing facility in south Wichita, Greg and Jeremy have come a long way. From hopeful and passionate hobbyists to full-fledged entrepreneurs, they have built a highly successful business from the ground up and continue to serve up pizza, beer and passion, in equal measure, every single day.

Can, thanks Immanuel! Grapefruit citrus aroma with notes of grassy hops, floral hops, mango, tangerine and orange. Pours hazy golden colored with a large off white head that has excellent retention and little lacing. Starts with juicy tangerine, mango and grassy hop flavors. Finishes dry but still fairly smooth with grapefruit, orange and floral hop flavors. Decent.

Can pour from Friar Tuck, Crestwood. It's a dark, dark mahogany-brown with light sparkle, finger-width beige head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt with lighter earthy quality, vanilla, dark fruit. Taste is strong earthy, roasted malt, vanilla and chocolate with late dark fruit. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation and crisp finish as taste. Overall, more complexity and better than I was expecting.

Pour is a cloudy gold with a small white head. Aroma is a bit of white wine and sour fruit. Flavor is again a little white wine with some sour lemon. FInish I get a bit of oak. It does not say this was aged on wood but that's what I'm getting after the swallow. If there was a category for a saison lite this would fit the bill.

No dating on the can.

It pours a cloudy orange yellow with a massive head of foam with plenty of lacing.

I get a sweetish aroma of tropical fruit, mango, pineapple, tempered with some dank notes, some bitterness.

The taste is kinda bitter from the tropical fruit as well as sweet, orange zest, definite dry hopped flavours. Dank and again, not an easy drinker, not attributable to the abv.

Medium bodied, mouthfeel is sort of harsh on my palate.

Nah. I wish I had the chance to only get 1 can. Not for me.
