Description
The WBC story starts back in 2009 when two home brewers had a vision. Greg Gifford and Jeremy Horn wanted to bring good beer and good pizza to the people of Wichita. After a lot of hard work and many, many, many pints later Wichita Brewing Company opened their doors in the summer of 2011. The start was slow, with only five beers on tap. Eventually this would grow to seventeen beers on tap.

Success seemed to come naturally to the two home brewers. Wichitans rejoiced, and their thirst for craft beer kept growing. Eventually it was decided that Wichita needed to be able to get good beer on both sides of town. In 2015 the east side WBC was open for business, but this was not enough.

Eventually Wichita Brewing Company acquired an 18,000 square foot warehouse. The hopes were to continue brewing the same great beer, but they wanted to brew a lot more of it and they wanted to make sure a lot more people got the chance to enjoy it. This allowed WBC to can, keg, and distribute all throughout the state and on into Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.

From tinkering with self-built brewing systems in the garage and a brick-fire oven in the back yard to owning and operating an 18,000 square-foot brewing facility in south Wichita, Greg and Jeremy have come a long way. From hopeful and passionate hobbyists to full-fledged entrepreneurs, they have built a highly successful business from the ground up and continue to serve up pizza, beer and passion, in equal measure, every single day.

6pack of cans bought at Liquor Shed. I couldn't find a date. M

It pours a dark brown with reddish hues, mahogany?, small quickly dissipating head of foam.

The smell is a mix of roasted malt and grain, notes of nuts, and with that being said, comes across as on the sweet side.

The taste side is roasted malt and a nice nuttiness, very light bitterness, light sweetness, a Brown that fits my palate.

Medium describes the body and carbonation.

Very good Brown Ale.

Part of a mixed 12 pack bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a clear gold, impressive and long lasting head of foam.

I'm getting a tropical fruit nose with mango, pineapple, grapefruit, sweet notes from the fruit and malt.

Taste follows the nose with a wee bit of dankness added. Finishes on the bitter side though overall, it's not very bitter.

Smooth medium mouthfeel.

Part of a mixed 12 pack bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with a good head of foam.

Smells of wheat, light hoppy and spicy, a bit of a floral thing going on.

Taste is wheat forward, a little bit hoppy and spicy, yeasty, earthy. Light sweetness.

Medium bodied.

Good Pale Wheat.

Part of a mixed 12 pack bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a clear pale gold, nice head of foam and lacing.

Smells hoppy, grainy, light sweetness and bitterness.

Hoppier than grainy taste. Hop crispness resembles noble hops, grain doesn't have a corn flavour. Yeah it does but it's very light.

Smooth drinker due in part to the good mouthfeel.

Excellent Lager.

Part of a mixed 12 pack bought at Liquor Shed.

Pours a lightly hazy medium gold, good head of foam that shrinks slowly, not much lacing.

Smells of tart fruit but also strong nose of grapefruit citrus. There's a bit of dankness as well.

Fruity tartness up front but dang, grapefruit bitterness counteracts the tartness really well. The hops are dry hopped like and now, I'm getting some orange zest.

Medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Well integrated mix of sour and bitter. Well brewed beer.

12 oz can purchased as a single at Tipsy’s Wine and Spirits in Mission, Kansas. The pour is an opaque black with a well formed tan head which falls slow with lace. The aroma is pine, floral hops and a softly roast malt. The taste is the roast malt, pine, a bit of citrus, floral and more of the roast char malt towards the back. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a clean roast soft bitter finish. Nice one.

Can, thanks to Unclemike. Pours faintly cloudy yellow with small creamy off-white head, faint vanilla aroma, high carbonation, mildly bitter flat wheaty taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Not very exciting.

Draft at Blue Skye in Salina, KS. Orange golden color. A very tea malts and fruit hops IPA. Very sweet IPA, even for me. As I keep drinking it becomes even more off putting with a sweet medicine like flavor.
