Description

Part of a flight at Laguna Beach Brewery & Grille on 10th Dec 2017 (claimed to be 7.3% ABV). Blonde/golden bodied, white head that tried to hang around. Malty front with a slight fruity undertone leading to a bitter finish. Decent.

Clear deep golden color with a fine head. Good lacing. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and an average carbonation level. Sweet like an double ipa. Not enough bitterness to back it up. Grapefruit hoppy, dried fruits, malty and some pine in the flavor. A little bit harse.

Bottle at the July DC tasting. Poured a clear pale color, hazy with a fluffy white head atop. This beer might not have been intended to smell or taste like it does, but it worked out. It reminds me of a Jolly Pumpkin beer in both aroma and flavor. Fizzy, dense carbonation. Light funky yeast notes throughout with a sprinkle of zesty citrus. Very light soapy finish. Strange, but good.
