Can, around 45 degrees F. Nice clear pale pour. Clean fresh pale beer taste & feel. Initially, goes down easy with a friendly attitude and then in the middle some sharper astringent bitter bite tends to stick its little head up. Yes, once that attribute is present, its a little difficult to ignore. Overall tho, I found this to be somewhat refreshing, it just needs a little more manners if it wants to be like the civilized real old country real pilz. Good attempt raleigh.

Super dark brown coloured body with a fairly thick, three to four centimetre tall off-white and tan head that slowly fades atop the slightly opaque deep brown body, around 75 per cent opaque. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, light grainy notes, a ton of caramelised sugars, lactose and a bunch of bright cherries - odd, but very strong in the nose. Medium-bodied; Rich chocolatey, earthy, nutty, caramel flavours dominate with some of the cherries noticeable, but also some of the metallic twang and graininess with a lot of the bitterness from the roasted malts, coffee and chocolate all showing through towards the end. Aftertaste shows a richness from the chocolate and grain with a bitterness then from the oatmeal and especially the metallic notes with some alcohol coming through and a good deal of pungency, mostly from the malts, but also from the residual sugars and the metallic astringency. Overall, a rich, earthy, nutty and especially coffee and metallic twanged beer with a lot of flavours and richness throughout that work relatively well, but show strongly - which can be a nice thing, especially when the weather turns slightly chilly. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Cary, North Carolina (Crossroads Boulevard) on 30-May-2021 for US$1,79 sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-November-2021.

OK, got this at the total wine in cary. Taste is exactly that: a wheat ale. Rude, want to be an IPA feel. Not sure about the effervescence, but it certainly is not cutting on the palate. Yes, rather rude, but not quite as rude as an IPA. Well, forget about all the other stuff they say they added. Its just a straight up bitter whatever wheat ale. Thinking wheat hefe? Nil. It's wheat ALE. I drank this right form the can. I assume its hazy golden yellow with small head, like most wheat ales. Just like the same as some of the ratings before. I just popped the lid and drank it in lieu of the style printed on the can. Wallah. There, you have it, another on style wheat ale.

2$ can from total wine durham. Nice pour; almost black with a one inch choco moose head. Smell is mildly cold coffee. First taste is coffee up front, much like an almost impy stout. Probably not as mannered as a good porter should be, have had many other coffee beers that were a little more well behaved. Decent creamy co2. Alky content sticks its head up in the middle, becomes a little more volatile than expected. Visions of older burnt damp aged campfire wood becomes prominent. Wild wind howling thru the braincells, like a windy dark moonless drifting snowy night. Towards the finish I'm having trouble appreciating this brew. It becomes more difficult to deal with in the end. So be it, glad its over. There; you have it. Will not purchase again.

Yes, another 2$ can of IPA from total wine in cary. Big foaming hazy IPA pour. Odd ipa odor of sweet offness. Taste big brutal bitter IPA fer sure, deadly on style. Bitter mouthcoating sappy smoothness. Terribly rude bitterness fer sher. Too much for this lager lover, whew. Head goes rocky after a while. Thicker somewhat viscous palate. Yes, typical well made IPA, there are a million of them out there and they pretty much taste all the same. BITTER. Difficult for me to enjoy this style. I just wish it had another % or two of ABV to make my beer tasting experience worth it. Did I say whew? WHEW! If you like IPA, flip my numbers, you'll loves this brew. There you have it, not another IPA but it is.

Draught at RDU Airport, 8/29/21.
Moderately hazy, brass-bronze. Small, white head shows moderate retention.
Bubble gum and mango-papaya smells scripted yet well-executed in the nose. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft, malty, well-attenuated and full of estery yeast including fair amounts of bubble gum. Hops show tropical/yellow fruits with low bitterness. Some biscuit-cracker helps dry out the moderate sweetness. Low, engaging carbonation and lingering yeast/hop particulate astringency. Cookie cutter, but pretty well-done.

Crisp golden coloured body with a very thin, pure white head that fades fairly quickly and leaves nothing on top after a few seconds. Aroma of very light biscuity and grassy malts with a dry bite from some subdued Czech and German hops that bring out only a tiny bit of grass and no real bitterness. Light-bodied; Sharp malty and biscuity, honey profile that brings out a dry quality and a hint of honeysuckle with a definite floral bite at the end. Aftertaste is dry, but very easy-drinking with only a touch of flavours coming through the edges. Overall, a subdued, but enjoyable, very light and super crisp lager with a lot of character and depth, but on the lighter side and very easy-drinking. This one was pretty nice to sample locally and very fresh - a fairly good option for those who want something locally and full of easy-drinking flavours! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Total Wine in Cary (Crossroads Boulevard), North Carolina on 30-May-2021 for US$5,49 sampled in my hotel room here in Chesapeake, Virginia on 12-June-2021.

Very nice porter. Lots of coffee, but doesn't take over this beer. Lots of roast, from malt and coffee. Some nut, dark chocolate, a light bit of bark. Black pour with good head and lacing. Bitter finish. Can from Brewmasters.
