Fast forward to November 2021, and our cosmic footprint expanded with the Moon Room in Southeast Portland, a taproom oasis boasting an extensive selection of Ecliptic beers and the potential for a full-scale production facility. In late 2023, the esteemed Great Frontier Holdings, a collective of West Coast beer and beverage brands, was fortunate to acquire the Ecliptic Brewing brand. 12 oz. Aroma is cantaloupe, floral, orange rind, wet stone. Pours hazy orange with a one finger bone-white head with decent retention. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness with a light candy sweetness alongside, with biscuity malt overtones and grapefruity, piney hop flavors and a sense of menthol-like coolness. Prickly, nearly harsh carbonation. Good.
500 ml bottle from Tavour, 12/24/19. Pours a clear gold, with a decent sized foamy white head that leaves heavy lace on the glass. Bright, lemon, grass, and funk. Belgian yeast esters all over the place. Banana and orange, some pepper, clove, and a little bit of an herbal thing. Lots of flavor. Nice beer. 7/4/8/4/16
16.9 oz. 11.5% ABV. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, whiskey, wood, nutty, vanilla, caramel. Pours really dark brown to black with a one finger beige head with decent retention. Taste is highly sweet, very boozy, with rich flavors of chocolate, caramel, coffee, licorice, whiskey. It mellows out a bit as it warms, but it's mostly too boozy for me to really get into it.
Bomber. Nose is nectarine, crackers, light lactic acid. Big juicy nectarine flavor. Tart, but also strangely sweet and fruity. Interesting but the sweetness feels a bit fake.
On tap. Pours a dull amber with light head. Aromas of earthy Belgian yeast and doughy malts. Flavors of bitter banana, dull fruity esters and toasted malts
