~12 oz Tulip Draft at House of Brews in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This was list on the draft board as Southbound Imperial Berliner. Assume this is the beer, though feel free to move if this rating is on the wrong listing. The pour is mostly clear golden with a ½ inch white head that falls quickly. The aroma is citrus, softly acetic sour and a general tartness. The taste is the tart sour of the nose, citrus and a bit of bready malt. The finish has warmth, showing some alcohol. The palate is medium bodied with lower carbonation and the warm finish.

Can. Industrial strength citrus cleaning fluid aroma. First taste? Yhewwwww. One of the most hoppy bitter palate punishing beers in a long long time, so bitter, so freaking rude I’d say it borders on tripple ipa if there is such a freaking mah fah bitter nasty negative. Same with finish, you want over the top? This is over the moon. Help me, I’m melteeeeeeng. I know this says 6.5% but its gut to be more than that. well, I never..................................So, I gut to giver a higher rating cuz it’s givven me a buzz? Go figger. Want to make a cheap IPA fer yer friends? Three tablespoons of this in a cheap lager and they’ll think there drinken IPA, heheh. Hey, I think I’ll go try it.

Can. Pale with slight haze. First impression is its a rather friendly easy going beer. Not really tart, more like a shiny wit. Very good cutting co2 and I like that. Second big swig is pretty good too. Does have just a tad of medicine but its pretty good overall. Could drink a few of these babies. Toward the end, some of the spices come forward and I wish they were just a little more laid back. Not bad tho, never gets in yer face. Nicely balanced brew, hides alky well for a 5%.

Sample at GABF 09/26/2015, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Hazy golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of funky yeast, herbal hop and malt. The finish is fruity with an earthy yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle from Hops & Barley, Savannah, 10/16/15. It pours a rather dark brown color with a thin tan head. Nice earthy hop bitterness. Some roast, chocolate, and a bit of spice. Nice example of the style.

12 oz. can. Pours a hazy orange color, with a big, frothy, beige head and tons of lacing. The nose is pine, light caramel and toffee, resin, musty earth, and a touch of saaz. Light, crisp, malty sweetness, with a robust and pleasant bitterness. Smooth, bitter aftertaste. Light to medium body, pretty astringent, sticky, and lively. This is a pretty nice IPA! The nose is lacking a lot of the aromas I’m looking for, but the flavor and body are surprisingly good.

On tap at the Krog Street Market Hop City bar. Pours a light, hazy yellow, with a big, pillowy head. The aroma is mango, lemon juice, straw, and a little yogurt. Very sweet flavor, and significantly tart. Light body, creamy, effervescent, and acidic. Overall, this is a nicely made Berliner Weisse, although a it could be a little dryer, and the fruitiness is not my thing...

Sample at ACAT. Black, with a bubbly, off-white ring. Nice, mild coffee, with black cherries, syrup, walnuts, cocoa, and some light chilies. Very sweet, spicy, and a little bitter. Heavy, syrupy, sticky, and thick. This is a surprisingly nice, cloying, and flavorful beer.
