Description
Scofflaw burst onto the scene during the latter half of 2016 and has quickly become recognized for its highly sought after IPAs and Stouts including Basement IPA, POG Basement IPA, as well as its higher-gravity IPAs such as the Double Jeopardy and Hooligan. Scofflaw's Absentium Stout, and in particular the Barrel Aged Vanilla Absentium stout, are coveted among traders. Even so, Scofflaw's focus continues to be on Atlanta's west midtown area and its surrounding neighborhoods, such as the Bolton hood.

Tall boy from the grocery store. Pours a clear, dark, orange color, with a fair, frothy, white head. The aroma is dried orange, pine sap, cloves, and heavy elderflower. Sweet and sugary, with a bracing, abrasive bitterness. Medium to heavy body, sharp, and acerbic. Pretty nice.

Tall boy from the grocery store. Pours a clear, orange color, with a fair, bubbly, off-white head. The nose is spruce, papaya, heavy cloves, and orange oil. Sweet and malty, with a heavy, resinous bitterness. Medium to heavy body, syrupy, and thick. Aggressive, sticky, and tasty enough.

Not a bad märzen, if a tad ugly. Balances toasted grain and caramel notes with a gentle floral undertone and a mild bitterness on the back end. Tasty pint.

Not bad, although it comes across more as a straightforward non-region-specific IPA than a WCIPA. Tropical and citrus notes mix with a piney back end; old meets new. Pretty good pint.

2 month old pint can
A: Rich tawny gold with 1/2" of beige foam. Good retention and thick lacing.
S: Floral and citrus hops over woody malts with light caramel.
T: Bittersweet orange or tangerine citrus with a juicy tart fruit note giving way to a dry wood and caramel ending.
M: Medium light with average carbonation and thick mouthfeel.
O: Pretty good though I probably would not want more than 1 or 2.
