Description
Scofflaw burst onto the scene during the latter half of 2016 and has quickly become recognized for its highly sought after IPAs and Stouts including Basement IPA, POG Basement IPA, as well as its higher-gravity IPAs such as the Double Jeopardy and Hooligan. Scofflaw's Absentium Stout, and in particular the Barrel Aged Vanilla Absentium stout, are coveted among traders. Even so, Scofflaw's focus continues to be on Atlanta's west midtown area and its surrounding neighborhoods, such as the Bolton hood.

12 oz. can from Timmy. Pours black, with a big, bubbly, brown head. The nose is milk chocolate, smooth strawberry, caramel, and peanut butter. Sweet and malty, with a lightly sour flavor. Medium body, with a creamy and lightly acidic palate. Fun and flavorful, if a little strange.

Solid pale ale, a nice mix of toasty biscuit malts and bright citrus-melon hop notes, with a grapefruit-mango back end and mild resin on the fade. Finishes dry with hints of yeast and pine. Slight caramel sweetness adds heft to the base. One tasty-ass pale ale, and, having run my car through the wash three times in the past ten days (not having a garage sucks), I agree wholeheartedly with the name.

Seems to lean into Brut IPA territory, what with the crisp cracker malt, citrus-berry hop notes laced with pine, and dry finish, but--call it what you want--this unnamed collab makes for a tasty pint. Grapefruit and melon, gooseberry and mango, pine and earth...nice complex mix of hop goodness. Initial sweetness quickly dissipates into a mix of earth and mild herbal bitterness on the back end. Soft, laid-back texture makes for easy drinking. Nice little team-up brew.

Exactly what it says it is, so if half-gallons of tri-colored ice cream are something you want mixed in with a pretty good stout, then this beer’s for you. This beer’s not for me.

This dirty bitch liked the taste of the dirty beaches. A saison that tastes like a tropical IPA, let me get my shades and cool down.

Nice easygoing IPA, hazed as hell with tons of bright papaya, stone fruit, lemon zest, and berry. Toasted cracker malt base is underlined by earth and chive. Finishes with notes of pine, white bread, and resin. Tasty.

Twice the Basement, which, while nice, is little too much Basement for one beer. Thick and chewy, strong on the caramel and toast, offset by orange, lemon, mango, and the tiniest bit of pine. Tasty, but the uber-heavy mouthfeel makes the sweetness cling a little too much; more bitterness is needed to counter the malt. No trace of the alcohol, though, and my glass seems to be empty.

Can thanks to Sarah! Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of citrus orange and citrus with some earthy guava and a light grain note underlying. Flavor is orange forward with touches of passionfruit and guava and a sweet grain backbone.
