Sample bottle @ home thanks to the man himself. Thanks James! Unclear dark brown color with a decent sid off-white to beige head that lasts for a short while. Aroma is malts, lightly dark malts, a bit nutty, caramel and a hint of dark fruits slightly. Well that's quite surprise, didn't expect that at all. Taste malts, caramel, dark fruits lightly, slightly brown candy sugar, slightly nutty in the background and a vague candy-ish sweet hint. Very well balanced actually and quite nice. I really like this! Tastes like the perfect combination between a bockbier and an Abbey Dubbel. Very nice, cheers James! Quite certain this will be my highest rated malt liquor to date!

Draft at the Shepherd and Knucklehead. Clear pale pour. Aroma is mostly spice. Some funky and sourness comes through with the spice in the flavor. Pretty interesting.

Bottled 3/31/16, #1751, shared by Airforcehops on 7/8/17.
Dark mahogany liquid with good clarity, topped by a small, tan head showing low retention.
Light bourbon edges are filled in by maple, caramel and bready malts all displaying light-to-moderate oxidation that somewhat dampens things. Vague, green, PNW hops showing wintergreen, pine and grapefruit but not overly resinous. For a year old, this thing is rather tired, dull and surprisingly unfocused/not well-integrated. It isn't boozy or messy, at least.
Thin, hoppy and bitter up front with bready oxidation through the middle and low, very loose carbonation that highlights the severe lack of texture/malt depth here. Not boozy, messy or overdone on the bourbon, but just incredibly thin and oddly bitter with highly premature oxidation.

Bottle shared by Airforcehops, via trade with James, shared on 7/8/17.
Ruby-auburn with a quickly fizzling ring of beige bubbles. High clarity.
Fruity with a nutty character that is vaguely peanut-like. Lots of semi-dry caramel and toffee mix with a more bready malt character while peanut skin-like notes continue to "dry" the finish and guard against any potential sugary/syrupy malt (which isn’t there anyways). Dark malt adds a cola-like character while some alcohol is present, though not sharp or very bothersome. Kind of just like a lightly roasty amber ale.
Malty, fairly sweet with caramel-toffee and light honey easily balancing dry peanut skin, cola and red fruit esters and low-to-moderate alcohol apparency. Could be a little more dry, but I guess that’s a malt liquor for you. Very high carbonation - on point to style, as well. My biggest issue is that the peanut flavor added mirrors DMS very closely, making it taste vegetal and beany. But then again, it gives it more authentic malt liquor character! Certainly not bad and quite funny, if nothing else.
