Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a slightly hazy dark golden color with an enormous foamy white head that left good lacing. The aroma was yeasty, phenolic, medicinal and dry. The flavor was bitter and yeasty with medicine and band aid. Very long medicinal finish. Medium body. Awful.

2 weeks ago at IPH. Lighter than expected. Coffee smell all over. Taste is coffee, what else can be said about many of these coffee beers except that they are influenced by coffee. Plain old coffee. Cannot detect much alky in this brew. A not over the top good breakfast drink. Perhaps you can heat it up and add some vanilla creamer, heheheh. Yea, not bad for a coffee stout, oops, I mean porter, HAH

Tap, bocktown, nice place. This brew is certainly a dunkel, if not perhaps a little personality than your typical mild dunkel. I like dunkel and this is a good example of the style. Now, the pumpkin, yes there is a little pumpkin in there but it lacks the typical pumpy spices and I am glad. So tired of pumpkin spices. This brew seems to have real pumpkin in there without being bullshit in yer face spiced. Good job, I hope they didn’t fool me into thinking there is no real pumpkin in there, because it does seem like the real thing! Look, I don’t like pumpkin beers in geb=nearl, but I thinkd this stuff has promise, good job!

First let me say this never seems the % alky it lists, yes, its spiced saison and there is old country saison yeast flavor in there, its mostly holiday winter spices like clove, et al. Yes, not sure about the plum, but its there if yosu seek it. Perhaps just a little too much winter spices, like most overspiced end of year brew but this one has some of that saison farm effects yeast all thru the session. Hey, so I’m not a fan of holiday spiced brews, so what?

Tap bocktown. Friendly brown ale nose. Lighter brown in color. Almost flat but pleasant on the palate. I was hoping the wet hopping did not degrade this brew but there certainly is some bitterness present that you don’t get in the original nut brown. For a hoppy brew, this is not bad, it lacks all the dull hop punch so present in most hoppy beers. Acceptable.
