Description
Independently owned and operated, Ghost River Brewing has made good beer for the good people of Memphis since 2007. Our ales are as much at home in a bar as they are on a riverbank. At a tailgate or around a campfire. Front porch or back nine. In short, our beers are made to wander.

At Ghost River, precision is king and consistency is queen. Because we’re proud of our beers. And you should know what you're getting every time that tap handle is pulled or a top is popped: A beer that works as hard as you do, brewed by people who know and respect the process. Brewing beer is part science, part art, and all passion. That’s why we use the freshest ingredients we can and the best equipment available. They say you only get out what you put in. So we put in our best.

Bottle in LA - picked up at Walgreens in West Memphis. Pours clear orange-gold with a frothy, white head. Rindyborange in he nose, some crispy bread, lightly toasted caramel, tangerine. Medium sweet flavour with more bready malts, hints of berries and white grape, oily pine, melon. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with light resin, further piney notes, sun-kissed biscuits, bread, ripening citrus. Decent IPA.

Golden pour with a rather short lived white head. Not even a white layer. No lacing. Looks like a cider. Caramel malt dominated aroma. Well not to inviting start. Medium body and an ok carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Caramel malty and faint fruity flavor. Tasted better than expected. But will not chase a new one. Just a state tick.

Good solid red ale, slightly lacking in flavour but seemed to improve as it warmed up from sub-zero!
