Draft at Mellow Fellow King’s Beach. Hazy purple amber, see pic please. Aroma of dates and raisins. Taste is tart and boozy plums. Interesting.

Bomber from Corti Bros. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight, creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark malt and coffee. Near full bodied. Flavor is complex. Very earthy dark chocolate; dilute dark treacle; espresso coffee or similar; some barely detectable stone fruit and citrus. Guess every breweryhas to have one of these, and in this case they did a bang up job. Finishes earthy, chocolate with coffee detectable. Surprisingly delicious - stands out in the IS category IMHO.

Bottle, in Sacramento. Dark brown colour. Nutty and caramelly aroma and flavour, moderate hops. Brown ales are not my favourite style, but this one was nice enough to drink.

Tap at 1022 in Old Sacramento. Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma of mild yeast, mild fruit, a bit of malt. Flavor of fruity esters, a yeast note, but not getting banana. The malt is nice, and overall it fits the style in a moderate way. Finishes less than dry, with mild fruit/malt aspects.

Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a large creamy white head. Aroma, through the huge head, seems to be citrus. Med body at least. Flavor is sort of citrusy pilsner - a little bready malt, and then I’m thinking non-sugary aspects of strawberry jam. Very nice.

Aka Bad Habit. Tap at West Coast Brew Fest 2014. Pours dark hazy orange with an off-white head. Med body. Flavor is sort of citric/fruit esters, malty and a little yeasty.

Pours dark brown with red glints and a tan head. Aroma of leather, darker stone fruit, darker malt. Med + body. Flavor is caramel, toffee, treacle combo with something suggesting cherry/leather/wood. It’s a little malty, but has a sharp bitter aspect. Think it’s well with the style. It’s really tasty.
