Old Bust Head Brewing Company is an independent, solar-powered microbrewery in Fauquier County, VA west of DC. Our experience brewing traditional ales & lagers has helped us win awards in styles classic and creative. With beautiful views of slate roofed barns and refurbished campus-like brick buildings, Old Bust Head is part of a unique farm called ‘Vint Hill’ that for 50 years operated as a top secret military listening post. Familiar faces behind the bar share their love of craft in our 1950’s post & beam taproom while covered outdoor seating between our taproom and production area provides a welcoming environment for leashed dogs and all-weather access to a rotating variety of food trucks.

Mocha Macchiato Stout from Old Bust Head Brewing Company

On draft at the brewery. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was a blast of lots of chocolate, roasted coffee notes. Macchiato character comes through, rich and smooth with a nice chocolate finish. Very tasty.

On draft at the brewery. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was a blast of caramel coffee notes. Macchiato character comes through. Very tasty.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a dark brown color with a nice tan head. Aroma was nice roasted malt notes, chocolate, some light coffee, not getting a lot of coconut in this one. Flavor was nice roasted malt notes, some roasted malts, perhaps a touch of toasted coconut, but it’s much more hidden than the. Like the base beer, the alcohol was pretty well hidden for 10 percent.

Draft at Meridian Pint. Murky brown color. Aroma of cocoa and coconut. Taste has decent coconut but not overwhelming, and some chocolate. Decent.

Alamo Drafhouse, somewhere in the backwater of Loudon County, tap on nitro: pours black with a creamy beige head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Taste is same. Not too sweet. Alcohol well covered. Had it not come in a small glass I might have thought this was a normal milk stout.

Draft at Evening Star Cafe. Poured a pitch black color with a small brown wispy head. Aroma is fresh code grounds. As it warms a very velvet dark chocolate. Lots of coffee roast notes. Nice

Draft at Rustico Ballston. Opaque brown color, beige head. Aroma of coffee and burnt brownies. Taste has intense coffee grounds and bitter cocoa. Delicious.

Keg at The Answer Brewpub. Dark brown, large creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of strong cherries, raisin, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, cherries, roasted malts, coconut. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild booze.

Keg at The Answer Brewpub. Dark brown, large foamy tan head. Good retention. Aroma of strong chili, roasted malts, chocolate, cherries, smoke. The taste is chocolate, cherries, roasted malts, peppers, mild smoke. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice.
