S: wheat (duh!) - curaçao - candy A: slightly hazy orange body - thin white head T: crisp - canned corn - light full oranges P: rich wheat - easy-drinking - no hops at all O: mild throughout - soft fruits, if that - one-dimensional, but still great to try from Alaska while hot here across the entire country in Washington 16 ounce can - La Bodega: Anchorage, Alaska - purchased: 05-October-2021 - US$3,05 - sampled: 18-June-2024

4 oz. Draft. Aroma of milk chocolate, roast. Flavor was pretty good. Roasted malt backbone, chocolate and some soft coffee. Mouth feel and texture are correct for the style. Good.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, off-white and tan head that fades relatively quickly but leaves a nice, subtle one centimetre lace on top. Aroma of toasted grain, light grapes, a touch of coffee, some earthy and nutty malts with a light dose of bread, dough and yeast and finishing with some soft caramelised sugars - quite nice and light in the nose. Medium-bodied; Rich nutty, earthy malts dominate here with a good body and a rich profile, showing some floral aspects, but more of a drier, nuttier taste, especially at the end with some almost unfinished sugars and doughiness to the bite, with some light hazlenuts and peanuts as well at the very end. Aftertaste shows some of the earth and grain with some caramelised sugars and light yeast with a light mushroomy and coffee flavour, especially at the end, but balanced well with all the malts. Overall, a nice and robust malty and earthy profile that hits some nice deeper flavours and the yeast comes through with a good lager and grassy profile, especially at the end, but the complexity does well here throughout. Overall, a nice and robust, earthy, malty and grainy beer that has some good nutty, yeastie and complex flavours, but relatively easy-drinking makes this a good option in the fall in Alaska or even down here in Washington! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska on 01-July-2021 for US$3,05 sampled at my house here in Washington on 09-October-2021 a few days after returning from the store itself and the city/State itself.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thick, large, five to six centimetre tall tan and light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, alcohol, toffee, caramelised sugars, lactose and a big deal of fresh cream - very nice in the nose. Medium-bodied; Very rich roasted malt notes dominate with oatmeal and molasses along with a lighter pitted fruit and sweetness from toffee and a subdued but rich lactose bite towards the end. Aftertaste is rich and robust with the earthiness coming through from the malts with a lot of oatmeal, lactose and caramelised sugars throughout that give a nice balance to the deeper malts. Overall, a nice and pungent beer that hits the marks nicely, even as summer is in full swing up here, and the days barely get to 50 degF, this beer is nice and a welcome diversion from the IPAs that are still easy-to-find up here. I sampled this 65 cL bottle, purchased from Brown Jug in Fairbanks, Alaska on 24-June-2021 for US$5,99 sampled in my hotel room here down in Homer, Alaska on 28-June-2021 with my wife and three kids on vacation!

Mostly clear golden and peach coloured body with a thinnish, two to three centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of crisp grass, floral hops, a lot of citrus notes and a good deal of bitterness from the hops. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong grapefruity and piney flavours dominate with the great PNW hops showing through, along with a good malt backbone that gives it support along with a tiny bit of mangoes and tropical fruits at the end, also from the hops. Aftertaste shows the bitterness nicely with a great bite of malts, alcohol, biscuits and yeast with the hops the strongest, by far, in a good way. Overall, a nice IPA overall, with a lot of characteristics throughout with a lot of body, some good flavours from the hops, but the bitterness from the hops is very nice. Great to sample as my first beer here back up in Alaska. I sampled this 65 cL bottle, purchased from SafeWay Grocery Store in Fairbanks, Alaska on 23-June-2021 for US$5,99, bottled on 25-May-2021, sampled in my hotel room here in Fairbanks, Alaska, a few minutes later on 23-June-2021.

22 oz bottle poured. Thanks Wyatt, for the Alaska haul! Golden orange pour, rocky, white foam head. Classic American IPA, earthy grain aroma, a slight hint of a bitter orange fruit, some piney character. Starts to have a juicy note late. Orange. Overall a solid brew

Sampled from a can this beer poured an orange caramel color with a large foamy orange-tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty and sweet with honey, caramel and light golden fruit. The flavor was sweet, tangy and malty with honey, caramel and faint fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body.
