Dark amber - nose is dry cocoa, strong clove, light banana, some tangy wheat - flavor is semi-dry, with some chocolate, banana, clove, light pepper - some warming spiciness in the finish - rich dark wheat malt character throughout - on par with the hefe - nice.

Clear amber pour - smallish head - nose of fruity esters and caramelized sugars - body is a bit light - not as rich as I typically like my dunkels - however, the clean sweetness, light notes a roasted nuts and bright fruity esters on the tail end are all quite pleasant, almost making up for the slight thinness through the middle - good - it grows on you.

[Original rate 4.3 - my initial opinion has diminished just a slight bit - later samples have proven to be a bit too hoppy for a German pils - sometimes a little overly bitter, but it is still the tastiest lager in town] Pour is a clear, lively gold with a frothy, pillowy head - nose is truly lovely - fresh, grassy, floral hops, a moderate mineral/limestone note, a very light sweetness - medium soft carbonation - a touch of sweetness up front, but the malt is mostly firm, dry and crisp - medium to high grassy and peppery hop flavor and bitterns complimented by a nice mineral bite on the end - clean, snappy finish - nothing much else to say except that it is a damn fine German pils and the best lager made in Colorado.

Growler purchased from Mile High W&S - poured into a weizen glass - turbid light copper - fizzy, short-lived head - nose is heavy on the clove and banana, but also has spicy notes of pepper and lightly acidic notes of overripe apple - flavor is medium sweet, with notes of orange and banana - full wheat malt profile and moderate yeastiness - moderate acidity to cut the sweetness - finishes with mildly peppery phenols - very tasty and, more importantly, very authentic - if you told me this was from Germany, I would believe you - yea, I’m totally drinking this whole growler tonight - I’m really excited to try their other offerings now, especially the pils.
