Description
Oxbow is a small farmhouse brewery located in rural Newcastle, Maine. The brewery is nestled in an enchanted forest amongst rolling farmlands and winding tidal rivers, of which the ebb and flow provide a constant reminder that the coast is near.
The name Oxbow is inspired by the bends in these rivers, the Dyer in particular, which features stunning horseshoe-shaped oxbows where the river covers tremendous ground to travel what could otherwise be a very short linear distance. We employ a similar approach when crafting our beers, taking months or years to create a beverage that is commonly produced in a matter of days.

50cl bottle pours a hazy gold with some tight, white head. Nose is really nice, a little musty, a bit doughy too, a little bit of hay, some lemon, a bit of white grape. Flavor has some sweet apple and pear, a little lemon bitterness, mild funk, some cheese rind, some hay. Mostly clean finish. Interesting.

Keg at Mikkeller Bar - Copenhagen. Pours lightly hazy yellow-gold with a white froth cap. The nose has lots of dry wheat, pale citrus rind and mellow melon. Very crisp, dry, moderately zesty, with more lemon rind, light bitter hay, wheat, salt. Light in body with average carbonation. Dry and crisp on the finish with light salty licks, mild wheat sugars, straw, rindy lemon. Lovely. Very drinkable.

At Macché in Rome. Pours hazy and vivid yellow, huge white long lasting foam. Nose of Belgian yeast, wheat, lemon. The initial sourness in the mouth develops in a range of other notes: yeasty feel, citrus and floral notes. Very balanced and refreshing, this is what I call an innovative reinterpretation of a Classic Belgian style. Congrats! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
