Located in a former roadside speakeasy on US Route 50 heading west into the city of Cincinnati, Fifty West Brewing Company first opened its doors in November of 2012. Since then, one thing has remained the same. Every time you have a Fifty West beer, you know it was handmade in small batches with a focus on the four virtues we hold closest to our hearts: craftsmanship, tradition, innovation, and patience.

The pour is a medium brown with a light beige foam. Toasted Malts, lightly roasted, chocolate, a bit of sweet caramel, nutty, a bit earthy. Really nice malt profile. Finish has a decent bitterness to it. A really enjoyable brown.

Pour is yellow orange. Strong C hops. Floral, citrus, light malt. Medium mouth. Very bitter overall. Highly enjoyable IPA.

It pours light hazy yellow. A bit of fruit and light Belgian yeast notes. A rather light pale ale. Crisp. Solid.

Cleared on pour. Light fruity and Hoppe notes. It has a bit of Belgian yeast flavor but not as much as you’d expect. A middle-of-the-road Belgian IPA. But I don’t really like Belgian IPAs.

Deep red with an off-white head. Decent candy sugar and yeast notes. The slight nuttiness threw me off a bit. Not my favorite of the 50 W. offerings I had. Decent.

Bottle at Coppertail Brewing during the RBWG 2015 Grand Tasting. Hazy yellow with off-white head. Aromas of Brett, floral, tart citrus. Tastes of tart citrus, Brett, floral. Medium-light body with a dry finish.
