Sample at the brewpub. Black pour with a medium thick tan head that recedes gradually. Patches of lacing on the glass. Roasted malt, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Full-bodied with a roasty character of coffee and malt, along with chocolate and hops in the background. The finish is malty up front with a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy brownish-orange color with a thin off-white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, caramel and bourbon. Full-bodied and syrupy with a boozy character and flavors of caramel malt, fruit and hops. The finish is sweet with a bourbon and charred malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample at the brewpub. Brownish-black pour with a medium khaki head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted coffee and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of roast coffee, sweet malt and dark chocolate. The finish is roasty with a lingering black coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Aroma of bananas and mild spice. Light-bodied with a mildly tart fruit, minerals and spice. The finish is slightly tart with a short fruity aftertaste. Average overall.
