Pours up at AZ Strong Ale Fest 2014 with a murky deep copper body that has thin gold edges and supports a light tan head. The aroma is sort of malty, earthy with spicy dank hops and pine hops. At the edges I get mild wort graininess that shows up at the end of the draw and creates some balance to the aroma. The taste begins thick and malty with pine hop richness blended in there with it. To midway it picks up a sliver of wort graininess and more pine resin. Into the finish faint notes of blueberry to sweet cherry esteriness are at just noticeable levels but add interest to this solid barleywine. The big ABV is very well hidden and the body is just about right for a rich drinking experience. It seems a little cellar time might round this out into something greater than it is right now. I would be happy to try some more of this.

Pours up at AZ Strong Ale Fest 2014 with a hazy copper body that has gold edges and supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up fruity ester notes that are on the dark fruit side like plums and cherries and then there is a sense of hoppiness in the background. The taste is full of sweet fruity esters like brown sugar dusted prunes and raisins and cherries. Behind those notes this has a thick malt sweetened vague sort of hoppiness that yields some flavors I canβt put words to and very little in the way of bitterness. After a few sips it seems there is a slightly drying sensation that seems a bit like hop bitterness or maybe a mild malt astringency. This is thick and tasty.

A reddish copper ale with no head. In aroma, strange mix between cotton candy, watermelon and pear, musky, OK. In mouth, a strange sweet fruity malt with fishy iodine and watermelon, tartness, interesting but becomes cloying in the end. On tap at brewery.
