Pitch black, 1 finger espresso head. Smells like vanilla, peppercorn, cayenne and tiramisu. Hmm, well, I have to say this is incredibly spicy. the finish is lingering jalapeño and chili. it’s intense. The spice is cut by vanilla and chocolate. Dense mouthfeel, if I drink more, the spices goes away and then it comes back.

Bottle. A- Subtle vanilla, cinnamon, chilies, slightly sour. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Hot chili peppers, strong cinnamon, spicy. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, spicy finish. O- This was hot! Way too hot from a combination of the peppers, cinnamon, and booze from aging. This could be fantastic. I was hoping it would be as solid as their Carpe Diem but it was very spicy. The peppers need greatly subdued. Couldn’t even finish a pint worth.

Poured from bottle thanks Airforcehops black oily pour with nice lacing and a minimal tan head. Aromas of straight up maple syrup coffee dark chocolate and roasted malt. Taste is overly sweet too much maple can see drinking 2 oz and that?s enough. The flavors are good and natural but can?t see drinking 8 oz or more. I?ll let you know how it works in my pancake batter! Holy diabetes!

650 ml bottle purchased at Beertopia, Omaha, NE. Pitch black, very thin mocha head. Aroma is pure maple syrup. No, really pour this over you pancakes, wow. Very mild coffee.

The flavor shows heavy on the adjunct. Coffee is light upfront with a blast of maple syrup. Whiskey barrel even fights to get through the heavy maple syrup. Jesus... This would be a perfect for a stout reduction in a sauté pan to be used on your morning pancakes. Full, thick mouthfeel. I love bold stouts, I really do. This is really too sweet, if they scaled back the maple and let the coffee and barrel come through it would be awesome!

Vanilla cough sizzyurp!

2015 vintage, purchased at Brewtopia, Omaha, NE. Looks good, full mocha head on a pitch black head. Aroma is great! Full vanilla bean, chocolate and weak roast.

What happened end here? Overly sweet to the point of being astringent. Overly sweet vanilla extract? To much vanilla? It doesn’t take like natural vanilla at all more like extract. It has a syrupy texture and mouthfeel. Maybe with a light adjustment to the recipe will put this where it needs to be.

Poured from bottle thanks Airforcehops black brown pour with a thin beige head. Aromas of vanilla dark fruit and malt. Taste is sickly sweet dark fuit and syrupy vanilla with a bitter lingering finish. Disappointing.
