Description
It was in 1973 that the adventure of the "Au Baron" brewery began. Alain Bailleux then purchased the last bistro in the village there. There he meets Danielle who will become his wife. Together, they embark on small catering. Later, Alain and his father, retired master brewer, challenge each other; create a craft brewery. This will be done on June 8, 1989 when Gussignies inaugurated the village brewery with Saint-Médard, a beer inspired by the farm-breweries of yesteryear. For a few years now, Florence and Xavier have taken over the reins of the family business and continue to make the Baron prosper by adding a local store where you can buy beers and products from local producers.

LCRBM2: had some trouble properly tasting this beer. Caramelly toffee flavor, somewhat dusty. Soft, sweet, pleasant but undistinctive. Bottle@home: light orange color, chunks of yeast floating. orange in teh vinous and dusty aroma. Vinous flavor, almost sherry-like, with reamining flowery hops and mandarin curacao. Maybe past its peak, but quite drinkable.

Lemongrass and florals. A touch sweet in the beginning like Martha Stewart potpourri baskets. Pours golden amber with great head. Very sweet finish. Funny how few biere de gardes I've actually had from France. Tap at Sovereign.

Bottle shared by Fabio @Luppolo Station (Rome). Corpo medio, carbonazione medio-leggera. Gradevolissima!
