Bottle share with JMD at HNB 10.02.18. Cloudy dark orange. Persistent beige head and lacing. Fine aroma and taste of medium softly roasted malt and citrusy and piny hops. Well balanced. Medium bitterness.

0,75 flaske (takk til Sigmund for flott bursdagsgave!), delt med Ovesen mens mesken til vår Admiral IPA skylles: brunrød kobber med tett skum som varer. Deilig appelsinaroma sammen med røde bær og hint av høy. Frisk og bærsyrlig smak, lav bitterhet, og med lite av de "vanlige" trekkene jeg forbinder med belgisk saison. Forfriskende og meget lettdrikkelig.

Voici une bière de Noël plus qu'honnête. Déjà en verre, nous partons sur de bonnes base, joli brun foncé limpide avec une belle mousse brune crémeuse de 2 cm et une effervescence marquée. Le nez est plutôt avenant sans être des plus complexes : caramel, agrume, réglisse et très faibles notes de café. Ce dernier apparaît plus nettement à la dégustation toujours avec des arômes de caramel, d'agrumes et de réglisses. Des notes épicées viennent également donner un peu de caractère lors du final. L'équilibre est quant à elle très satisfaisant. L'alcool pourtant qu'à 7 % Abv joue très bien son rôle et confère la chaleur nécessaire aux bières d'hiver. L'amertume est bien dosée pour une bière de Noël qui se veut sur la fraîcheur. La progression d'intensité allant crescendo est également agréable pour une bière qui finir par bien prendre tout le palais. Il est dommage que cette Saint Médard manque un peu de complexité car les bases sont excellentes. Bon moment.

Bomber served in tulip glass. Dark gold strongly carbonated beer. Bready malt aroma, fruity hops taste with coriander pepper sour finish.

Shared bottle at home. Pours clear dark amber with big beige head. Weak aroma of spices, malt, dark bread, brown sugar, dried berries, caramel. Taste sweet and bitter, with some fruitiness. Dry with a sweet finish. Medium bodied.

Pour is a ultra light yellow with a large white head. Aroma is at first a little burning thanks to the green bottle. After letting is sit for awhile I do pick up some honey. Flavor is a dry malt and ever so slight honey sweetness. There is no date on the bottle but I'm sure this is old. Bet even having a fresh bottle, this would probably do nothing for me. It is very watery and no where near as flavorful as it could have been.

750ml bottle, probably sat on too long..no expiration date. The aroma isn't that pleasant, but not that off-putting either. A pretty cool beer aside from that. Hazy, unfiltered orange-tan body. White head quickly dissipates. I get a little cardboard, faint oxidiation, but lots of cool medium French malt tones as well... Really a lot of depth, finesse. Great champagnish mouthfeel. Very true to style, very French. Lots of doughy malt depth, but also an assertive, dry, zesty hop balance up front that quickly fades into sweet malt and farmhouse-like yeast. Really great beer, one of the last unexploited styles. Great balance, would love to have this fresh.

750 ml corked & caged bottle, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 6%. Reddish brown colour with lots of floaties, moderate white head. Malty and vinous aroma, notes of ripe red fruits. The flavour is not too sweet, medium malty with some fruit. Very moderate hops. Fair enough.
