Description
It was in 1973 that the adventure of the "Au Baron" brewery began. Alain Bailleux then purchased the last bistro in the village there. There he meets Danielle who will become his wife. Together, they embark on small catering. Later, Alain and his father, retired master brewer, challenge each other; create a craft brewery. This will be done on June 8, 1989 when Gussignies inaugurated the village brewery with Saint-Médard, a beer inspired by the farm-breweries of yesteryear. For a few years now, Florence and Xavier have taken over the reins of the family business and continue to make the Baron prosper by adding a local store where you can buy beers and products from local producers.

75cl Bottle. Best By The end of 2024 label says. Extreme gusher. Been standing up for 14 days in fridge and poured carefully and 1/2 exploded out the Bottle. Be carefull. Hazy Golden with a large fluffy head. Minerally and rustic. Melon, honey, farmhouse and grass. Smooth and medium bodied - a little low carb of course. Super delicous and rustic.

Really nice! Not acidic, pleasantly fruity with lovely plum vibes as well as strawberry and soft rhubarb notes, likely from the French hops Barbe Rouge (Redbeard) which I don't think I've had before. Au Baron is tops.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Clear amber body, off-white head. Pleasant malt-driven aroma, dark bread and caramel largely, rye maybe. Liiiiightly tart, smooth caramelly taste, dark bread, earthy, vague alcohol, oooh, tasty! Pleasant, smooth, elegant, one of my two faves tonight!

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Slightly hazy golden body, creamy white head. Complex aroma, mild diacetyl (?!), sharp herbal notes, maybe alcohol. Kinda gives off rakija vibes while not being boozy in the aroma. Weird. Creamy taste, boozy, honeyish, alcoholic, funnily says 8° to 7% and now I can almost believe that. Herbal finish, lightly warming. Whoa. Not sure what to think of it.

Tap at Beergeek Bar. Hazy yellow body, off-white head. Lovely lean, dry citric, somewhat herbal aroma, some lemon rock candy, lightly dusty. Spicy, oily, citric, distinctly hoppy, bitterish, smooth taste. Pretty good hoppy farmhouse, light, kinda simplistic, modern and retro, fun.
