Papaya, pine sap, lime zest, juniper, and black pepper. Not too sweet, with a brisk, aggressive bitterness. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and a bit astringent. Harsh and aggressive, but quality.

Pour is a bright and brassy gold with a large white head. Aroma is crushed grain and honey malt. Flavor is more fresh crushed grain with a little fruity ester left on the tongue after the swallow. Clean, a bit sweet and refreshing.

Aromas and flavors are those of a pale logger with quite mild lime added. Slightly more sweet than bitter with okay carbonation and body.

Thinning tan head over a black beer body. Smell offers coffee infused bourbon, cinnamon, and somehow sandalwood. MY FIRST DARK LORD IN 15 YEARS, so I won't claim it's just as I remember it. Roasty malt is very mellowed out, and the bourbon continues, smoothly too, through the body. Sticky on the lips. More spice than the BCS's I've gone through over the years, but very very welcome. Could I tell the two apart in a taste test? I'd like to try.

Decibel Beer and Metal Fest: pours gold with white head. Aroma is lightly grassy and grainy. Easy to drink. Easy to chug. They made a simple beer with more depth than a macro. Not much more. Makes sense for municipal waste.

Decibel Beer and Metal Fest: pours black no head. Aroma is pineapple, loads of chocolate, vanilla. Very sweet. Quite fruity. I would have been hard-pressed to identify the lychee and even the pineapple was under a lot of other flavors. Banana was less blatant than Other Half's beers. Lingering aftertaste. Quite drinkable.
