Description
We are Fyne Ales, a family-owned Scottish farm brewery. When our brewery was founded in 2001, the goal was not only to make the best quality beer, but to bring jobs, industry and tourism to our community and our quiet corner of rural Scotland. We’ve continued brewing in this spirit ever since. Drawing water from the hills and brewing in converted farm buildings, we create modern, ambitious and progressive beers in a wide variety of styles.

[Cask at The Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A dull copper coloured pour with a white rim; sweet toasted malt aroma; quite sweet and syrupy in the mouth with some red fruits and malts; then a dry bready finish with a tart berry bitterness and bramble aftertaste. Very enjoyable.

Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2026, Beer#16. Very mildly hazed deeper golden coloured ale. Hoppy-sweet, but undistinguished beyond this.

Cask handpull at Metropolitan Bar JDW London. Clear amber colour lasting off white head its a light malty pale ale. Quite tasty. Decent temperature. Decent sweetish malt. Some ale yeast esters fruits. Decent enough. Packs flavour for a lower anv beer.

Cask pint from The Justice Mill, Aberdeen. It pours every so slightly hazy pale brown with a thick, fluffy white head..The aroma is bitter - sweet, brown bread, toasted nut, earthy, pine and a touch of toffee. The taste has a pleasing bitterness upfront, toasty brown bread malt, bitter - sweet character, some nuttiness, touch of dried fruits, earth and pine with a drying finish. Average body and moderate, fluffy cask carbonation. Decent.

Cask at Shrewsbury Hotel, Shrewsbury. Pours a slightly hazy “bitter brown” with a small scummy off-white head. The aroma has malts and caramel plus a hint off spice. In the mouth it is quite sweet and juicy but also slightly watery. Flavour has malts, hops, oranges and traces of nuts and autumn fruits. Finish is a little bitter. Not a bad beer but a bit bland. And I would call it a standard bitter rather than a brown ale.

5/3/2026. Cask at wetherspoon’s beer festival. At the Bell Hotel, Norwich. This was served straight from cask, unusually for a ‘spoons fest, and the pour showed it. Fruity, malty, caramel, biscuit. Quite dry with some decent hoppy bitterness. Liked it.
