The appearance was a bronzed copper color with a sly transparency about it. Finger’s worth of white foamy head sat atop and left some messy stringy lace in the wake.
The aroma had some toast, light sweet to spicy rye, subtle floral, sly earthy, touch of herbal, light honey sweetness, dried leaves and a little bit of woodiness.
The flavor blended exactly the way I wanted it to for a rye beer, the \"sweet\" and the \"spicy\" together in a fabulous way. Aftertaste was the same way with the finish in the same manner.
The feel was almost medium bodied as it sat just a touch under. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good.
Overall, finally! The rye beer where the sweet and the spicy blend the way they’re supposed to!

Growler share with my parents during a visit to PA.
The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of semi-tan foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Sly speckled lace.
The aroma had some caramel/toffee malts, light nuttiness and ended with some earthy hops.
The flavor was the same blending the sweet to the roast pretty nice. Aftertaste and finish followed suite pretty nice.
The palate was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under with a pretty good sessionable sort of smooth feel along my tongue. Fairly low carbonation with a good ABV.
Overall, pretty nice brown ale that I would have again if I could get it.

16 ounce can. Nearly opaque black color topped by a large frothy tan head. Faint roasted malt nose has a hint of chocolate and charcoal. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt and burnt toast. Finish has piney hops and bitter coffee notes. So far, the best Cascadian Dark Ale I have had (also, the only one I have had).
