(bottle) Cloudy and hazy orange to brown hue with a big foamy off-white head. Dusty and yeasty, slightly sweet wheat-malty aroma with cloves and a very shy banana fruitiness. Wheat-malty taste, slightly fruity and clovy finish. Decent Dunkelweizen that offers the distinctive taste, but nothing more.

(bottle) Hazy yellow colour with a big fluffy white head. Soft wheat malty aroma with light yeasty banana-fruity notes and cloves. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied, lively carbonated mouthfeel. Wheat malty and yeasty taste with banana and citrus notes, light-sweetbitter malty finish with traces of floral hops. Decent quaffable everywhere-to-get Weizen.

Paid $1.49 for a 12-oz single bottle of this at Whole Foods, Charlottesville. Pours clear dark brown with a huge tan, frothy head. Smells of roasted malts, toast, and light caramel. Flavors of toast, chocolates, molasses, and some toffee round this one out. Finishes with a smooth, rich bitterness of some chocolates that linger for quite some time.

Bottled. Nice, thick, off-white head on top of a dark, orange, hazy beer. Banana and citric aroma. Cloves too. Taste is citric, fruity and light malty. Slight metallic hints in aftertaste. Rating: 6-4-7-4-15-3.6. (051108)

The aroma is brewmashy. The color is golden and it has a beutiful lasting head. The flavor is sweet and malty with notes of spices and alcohol. But it is very simple - so in my book it is a boring strong lager. I’d hoped for something a lot better.

Bottle. Acidic and slightly malty aroma. Golden colour. Has a beautiful, big, stable white head. Quite malty, a little sweet flavour, and a little acidic. Aftertaste is unfortunately hoppy in a way that reminds me of cheap lager. Good body with a nicely mild carbonation.

Muddy amber-brown with olive shine; brownish tinted head. Banana and faint clove, yet a bit grassy nose. Rather sweet, fruity with some clovey notes. Ends very liquorice-like. Sweet and dull-malty character. Rather well-bodied. Wheat impression. Superfluous, boringly dull Dunkel Weizen.
