Pale reasonably active beer with a fairly alcoholic nose and a fairly sweet rather than dry flavour. Overall OK.

Ugly pale color, no doubt, but look at that head! It's a good four inches and it doesn't appear to be going anywhere. Tons and tons of carbonation as well. That really makes up for the ugly color. A bit of bitterness in the nose, with a hint of banana?? A nice, pleasant taste, and yes, that was a hint of banana. A pretty damn drinkable beer... no complaints here.

Bottle. Bright and cloudy. Nice white head. Lovely fruity, yeasty smell. Tastes like it smells, only a bit more acidic.

This is a good classic Doppelbock that just needs a little more assertion to be world class. Good deep color with rich ruby highlights. Sweet maltiness and an alcohol presence provide the rest. This could hide the alcohol just a little better to suit me. Just a tad coarse. Good beer nevertheless.

A pretty head on a golden colored beer is all to be expected. Average malt/hop aroma with a balanced flavor of hops and malt. I'm sure this is much better on the other side of the pond where it would be tasted while fresh.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a super dense white head and trillions of small bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass. Really nice looking beer! Aroma of largely bananas, but showing cloves, coriander seed and bubble gum. Medium-bodied; Decently strong wheat flavour with yeast and coriander seed most prevalent. Some cloves and citrus are noticeable later on, but not at the extent of the first two. Aftertaste is fairly clean, no offensive qualities, just a subtle wheatie finish. Overall, a nice beer...basically spot-on for the style! I bought this 500 mL bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 10-December-2003.

Cloudy yellow with lasting, bubbly white head. Banana/yeast aroma with a hint of smokiness. The flavour is a sweet banana hell. No balance just banana esters. At least no brewing flaws though.

Strong fresh bitterhop aroma. Pale golden, fine head, small bubbles. Flavors could be more clearly defined. Malty aftertaste, a bit watery though.

Very hazy golden colour with a nice white head. VERY strong aroma banana aroma with mixes of cloves and coriander seed. Fantastic look and smell! Medium-light bodied; Strong spicey (the two aformentioned notes as well as curacao) but very clean with yeast and wheat characteristics. Aftertaste very clean and refreshing. Overall, a great German wheat - really one to savour. I actually had this one (I just realised it) at the Frankfurt Airport (Lufthansa terminal) well before I was 21! I had this beer on draught at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York on 21-October-2003.

High carbonation, huge head that disappears quickly, cloudy rust color - very yeasty aroma - thin bodied, mild flavor, watery, even - cloves dominate what flavor there is - finish is almost non-existant - easy drinking, but who cares?
