12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 2/7/2015. Pours slightly hazy deep golden color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of light grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, honey, toasted bread, light caramel, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance and complexity of citrus/floral hops and bready malt sweetness; with decent strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, honey, toasted bread, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, honey, toasted bread, light caramel, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a solid IPA. Good robustness and balance of citrus/floral hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

4.8/10 β€” Appearance 6 Aroma 5 Flavor 4 Texture 4 Overall 5
Slightly hazy honey and golden coloured body with a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of light cascade hops, some honey and funky malt, a bit astringent in the nose. Light-bodied; Mild hop flavour with some very subdued malt, a hint of grass and hay and very little else. Aftertaste shows mostly stale malt with some light hops, a hint of sweetness and some herbal and grassy notes at the tail end, but they don’t last long. Overall, a pretty mild IPA with not many good flavours and a few bad ones. Relatively weak in all respects, but not really a beer worth searching out nor one to bring back home! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tampa, Florida on 03-January-2014 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 02-March-2014.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of light mushrooms, some smoked peat and light caramel with a lot of earthy malt and a bit of pit fruits noticeable. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours throughout with some cardboard up front, but a largely earthy and toffee note at first fading to a smooth finish with touches of vanilla and like oak. Aftertaste is smooth and relatively sweet with the caramel the strongest and more malt. Overall, a very nice beer, especially for the style, with the earthiness and malty flavours really coming out and still a hint of the funk of an old. I think this one should naturally be in the Old Ale category, but that was just after a single pint. I sampled this pint from Dunedin House of Beers in Dunedin, Florida on 02-January-2014 for US$4.50.
