Slightly hazy copper and light bronze coloured body with a super thin pale white head. Aroma of alcohol, light grain, a dose of flowers and some subdued earthy and nutty hops with a lot of resin and pungent astringency towards the end with a light dose of herbs and some soft sweetness at the finish. Medium-bodied; Strong earthy and nutty malt flavours shows through everything with only a touch of hops noticeable that show a slightly piney finish and a heavy hand of alcohol, medicine and astringency with a light grassy and herbal bite that shows a lot of punch at the end. Aftertaste shows some dry notes with a bit more malt than hops with a large piney and herbal bite and only a tiny amount of sweetness from the fruits, but more bitterness than anything here. Overall, a decent-ish IPA that shows a lot of pungency from the grain and more malt than hops here. Decent to try, but not recommended in the world of IPAs. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 16-March-2019 for US$2,29 sampled at home in Washington on 20-May-2019.

Copper and bronze coloured body with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of resin, nutty and earthy hops with a distinctly herbal bite showing a bunch of bitterness, but also a lot of alcohol and malt with some softer sweetness coming from fruit near the end. Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and earthy flavours show the malt at first with a strong grassy and herbal character and a lot of alcohol and resin make this even stronger flavoured. Aftertaste shows some resin, light fruity sugars, a heavy hand of malt and grain, but the strongest flavours are the astringent hops that show nutty and very earthy flavours and a punch from alcohol and some specialty grains. Overall, a decent Imperial IPA at best - this is a bit too strong in the Chinook department and while I'm not a fan of the hops, the rest of the beer was underwhelming in terms of complexity and balance. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 16-March-2019 for US$1,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 18-May-2019 in Pungoteague, Virginia.
