Client Brewer in Haarlem, Noord-Holland, Netherlands 🇳🇱
Established in 1986
Description

On tap at The Rake, Borough. Russet colour with a slight haze. Fruity sweet and alcohol on aroma. It’s ok, but thin on flavour, bit of sweet strawberry, bit of empty newspaper on the flavour. Not great.

A very nice orange color with a small head. Cannot see through the beer, too dark and hazy yet glowing. Aroma is sweet malt and sweet yet green and noble like hops. Its weird, lots of sweetness but not in the caramel manner. Just sugar and strong green/noble hops. Flavor is less sugary on the malts and more noble hops coming through. A strong bitterness finishes it off. Especially for a lager, this is still very unbalanced, which isn’t always bad but here it is not good. I was hoping for an awesomely clean and hoppy lager but that is not what I got.
11.2oz flip top bottle in Delirium Tremens snifter/goblet glass.

On tap at In de Wildeman. A new beer by Christoffel. I must say I had high expectations. The beer: Unclear amber brown colour, dense creamy off white head. Aroma of burnt sugar, some dark fruits, bit of spice and yeast. Flavour is sweet, burnt sugar, toffee, dark fruits, light spicy, bitter bit grainy finish, not very refined. Soft mouthfeel, but lively carbonation. Medium bodied. Not bad, but still a bit of a let-down imo. Hmmm, well, results from the past....

bottle. Clear brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Aroma of roasetd malts and caramel. Full-bodied, malty with flavours of caramel and roasted malt. Quite spicy with a touch of alcohol and a lingering finish, into which some hops seem to be tuning in.

Draught at Churckey. Black with just a bit of light sneaking through, small light tan head that rapidly disappears leaving slight lacing. Aroma of feet in sweatsocks - very odd. Taste is much more pleasant, starting with burnt caramel and progressing to raisins and coffee with a hint of dark fruit. Decent enough.

11.2 fl oz swing top bottle purchased at Blue Max in Burnsville, Minnesota. Pour is a murky orange brown with a smallish off white head. Extremely unfiltered looking. Aroma of clean toasted malt and fresh green hops, earthy and a hint of alcohol peeking through. Taste is herbal minty earthy hops right away - very strong and aggressive after that calms a bit some of the mineral toasted malt comes through. There is a sharpness to the taste, but not really any alcohol heat. The after taste is more of the herbal and earthiness. Palate is medium to thin, nice balanced carbonation and pretty easy to drink despite the size. Interesting well made beer.

Strange. Unfiltered pilsnerer. It has a fruity(orange) and intensive aroma like a belgian ale. without head and lacing. The flavour was a bit strange for me, because i missed the hoppiness, what a pilsners main characteristic. Alcohol is well-hidden. Sweet aftertaste.
