Description
Leo Brand begon in 1986 met brouwerij Sint Christoffel in Roermond in een hal achter zijn woonhuis. Binnen een paar maanden realiseerde hij er met zijn vrouw een professionele moderne bierbrouwerij. Nadat Leo Brand klein begonnen was in de binnenstad van Roermond, is de brouwerij in 1995 verhuisd naar de Roervallei, net buiten Roermond. Hierbij nam middels de aanschaf van een nieuw professioneel brouwhuis, gist- en lagerkelder de brouwcapaciteit flink toe.

Omdat hij geen opvolger had verkocht Leo Brand het bedrijf in 2001 aan Jeroen Hillenaar. Sinds augustus 2009 werd het management van ‘Sint Christoffel Bier’ eigenaar van de brouwerij geworden door middel van een managementbuy-out. Op 16 januari 2013 werd brouwerij Sint Christoffel failliet verklaard.

Op 1 augustus 2013 vond er een doorstart plaats zijn onder de vlag van de brouwerijhuurder Sint Christoffel Bieren BV in Breda. De bieren worden gebrouwen in de Belgische Proefbrouwerij te Lochristi. In 2015 werd de naam van de brouwerij gewijzigd in Sint Christoffel Bieren en in 2017 werd het Speciaalbierbrouwerij St. Christoffel.

Bottle at Jydske Øldage 2009. Frothy white fair mostly deminishing head. Dark amber colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Average light bitter finish. Oily palate. Boring and no power at all.

Bottle 33cl. w. swing top @ The Danish Summer Gathering Tasting, TSODRBSG09.Clear medium yellow orange color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, hay, toasted, moderate to light heavy hoppy, herbs, green grass, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to light light heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090822]

Bottle marked "Christoffel Noble Dry-Hopped Triple Lager". Pours with a white head and murky golden body. Aroma is fruity, some noble hops, honey and bready. Taste is fruity, bread and honey (mighty similar to the aroma). Medium carbonation.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Hazy amber golden with an off-white head. Fat aroma hops in the nose. Full-bodied, fruity accents and fat astringent aroma hops that leave a solid bitterness. 220809

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich malt, fruits, flowers and hops. Some notes of caramel as well.

Cloudy amber with a lasting white head. Grassy aroma, with fruity hops, peach and some dried fruits. Sweetish malty flavour with a hint of dried fruits, grassy hops and strong bitterness. Quite heavy beer.

(Draught at ’t Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 31 July 2009) Cloudy golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of grass, hay and lots of fresh hops. Malty, hoppy taste with dried apricots, grass and generous doses of fresh hops in a long, bitter finish. A warming touch of alcohol towards the end. More than medium body, balanced sweetness. Lovely beer.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering, 2009. Pours unclear orange with a small creamy white head and lacings. Yeast , fruits and grassy hops. Creamy and smooth palate. Dry and hoppy end. Herbal and grassy. Fine
