On tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Pours a light golden w/ a white head. Aroma is sweet and citrusy with some hops. The flavor begins light with sweet citrus notes, but builds in to a hoppy finish. Its an interesting take on a double IPA.

tap at Arendsnest in Amsterdam - Pour shazy light yellow with a lasting white head. It has a hoppy aroma with a touch of citrus. The flavor is well hopped with grassy and light citrus notes. The lively medium body makes for a bubbly quaff that ends in a bitter finish. By American standards, the hops are mild for a double IPA.

Bügelverschlußflasche:Deep reddish-amber coloured, hazy, small lacy off-white head; quite solid sweetish-fruity nose, dark fruits, dark malt and toasted malt, too; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour with a sourish tinge, medium bodied; sweet-fruity and also bitter finish with a very faint tinge of cacao powder. O.K., but not really great - the sourish tinge......

Gushing to towering light-beige head, slowly collapsing over hazy red-chestnut beer. Very nice malty, nutty, bready sweet nose, exactly as expected from a Bock. Bit lactic too, like thick coffee milk. Bitterish, roasted flavour, overlying more sweet-bready malts, again quite nutty. Some dry spices at every new sip, finishing earthy. Very slick & well-bodied, discreet alcohol(warming). Quite convincing, dark & sweetish Bock - as expected from Christoffel.

33 cL bottle, Winterse Bok. Pours dark brown with a small, dense and light tan head. Aroma is roasted caramel malt with a light dried fruity note. Roasted malt flavoured with a dried fruity note. Slight breadish. Smooth malty finish with a subdued bitterness.

33cl Bottle at Café Gollem. Dark amber colour, creamy light beige head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts, a hint of chocolate. Flavour is sweet, toasted malts, caramel, some nuttiness. Slightly dry bitter finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Overall very German, and good.

On tap @ Beiaard. Hazy orange with a small and dense off-white head. Aroma is citrus fruity and grass. Flavor is mild and soft malty with lots of hops, very refreshing. A great crossover between lager and IPA. Very ballanced and bitter at the same time.

From tap at Beiaard. Pours hazy orange with a dense, slight off-white head. Creamy. Mild citrus fruity and hoppy aroma. Solid bitter and orange to citrus fruity hops flavoured with a distinct bitterness coming through. Quite dryh finish. Nice one.

11.2oz stopper-topped shorty bottle. I hold Christoffel in high regard so I am very hyped to try this bottle. Pours a deep chocolaty brown color. The aroma is rich and chocolaty as well, with a touch of bocky yeast. Lots of dark fruity flavors, but doesn’t really strike me as being fresh. The rich malty thickness certainly lets you know this is high quality stuff. Light carbonation. Bare minimal hopping to keep it crisp in the initial mouthfeel, which quickly fades into malt sweetness. I deeply suspect that this beer is awesome in a fresh state, but in the bottled state I had it, it’s a little of a let down.
