Established in 2008, the Wedge is a neighborhood brewery with two locations in the heart of Asheville’s River Arts District. The Wedge serves as a gathering place for people of all ages and walks of life to laugh, exchange ideas and drink Wedge beer.

On tap with Breau. Pours a black appearance with a brown head. Medicinal cherry, brown sugar, anise, roasty aroma. Moderate to highly sweet flavor. Lots of anise. Some smoke. Raisins. A bit of booze. Fine.

On tap @ Wedge. Pours a murky dark orange appearance with little head. A lot of banana and spice in the nose. A bit tangy. Tangerine, grapefruity flavor. Some bread. Some booze. OK.

On tap @ Appalachian Vintner. Pours a bit murky dark brown appearance with a light brown head. Dark fruity, plum aroma. Caramel, brown sugar. Light booze. A bit cloying. Welch’s grape juice. Lots of brown sugar. OK.

Draft at the source. Cloudy golden color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of bubblegum, citrus and funk. Taste is softly sour tropical fruit. Wonderful.

Draft at the source. Cloudy variegated golden brown color. Aroma pf tropical fruit and bitter lemon. Taste is bitter fruit, cotrus. Great body.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a slighty hazy golden color with a medium sized white creamy head. Decent head retention. Aroma of grass, cereal grains... almost husky... sweet finish. The taste is grass, green apple and a sweet grainy finish. Well balanced and refreshing. Medium bodied.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a medium creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Big raspberry notes, chocolate and roasted malts. The taste is roasted malts, tart berries and chocolate. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

Served on nitro at the brewery. Color is almost completely black with your standard dark brown nitro head. Aroma is roasted malts, molasses and raisin. Taste is very different. Very fruity with notes of cherries, berries, green apple and only slight hints of roastiness. Full bodied.

Draft @ Hickory Hops 2011, Hickory, NC. Pours a hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty spicy yeasty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty spicy yeasty flavor. Has a spicy malty yeasty finish with hints of citrus in the aftertaste.
